MINERVA PARK COUNCIL JUNE 8,1987

Meetin was called to order by Mayor Cockerell. All members present except Mr. Murray.

Minutes of the May 11 and May 21 council meetings were approved.

The mayor ' s report for the month of May was approved by council.

Planning and Zoning - The special meeting on May 11 was for property on Westerville Road . Zoning request was approved by council. Lot 147 , the Cornett property, has been approved for a house which now complies with all guidelines. There still needs to be a correction on the zoning of the Felcon building (161 and Ponderosa). There were omissions on the last filing. The applicant will be recontacted to get it correct before Council votes on it. There was a brief discussion of the Meijer-Simon develment. Anew site plan was submitted with much more landscaping. They plan on a mid 1988 opening for Meijer. More about work on Cleveland Avenue will be known in a couple of weeks . The boxed culvert was inspected and the City of Columbus will look at it and make reccommendations. The muddy appearance of the north lake may be caused by two factors - the heavy rain and the work on the Simon site.

Community - The ravine and lake concern was discussed. Lee Rupp will study the situation whenever M-~ijer is finsihed. The Ohio Environmental Agency looked at the lakes and found a slight oil spill which has been cleaned up. It will be closely watched. Litter by the Lake was discussed. Foot patrol by the lake will be increased with citations being .given to violators.

Streets - Lee Rupp and Dave Blair will get together this week to prepare list of streets to be sealed. The pot hole on Maplewood will be looked at.

Service - Mosquito control will be done two times by Franklin County, but no dates yet.

Finance - Payment of the bills was approved. Preparation of the tax budget needs to be done and filed by July 20th.

Safety - The police and fire reports were given and accepted. There is quite a bit of concern about speeding here in the park. It will be given top priority by the police department to.set up radar at various times and days. Beginning July 1 we d1al 911 for emergency in Franklin County. Stolen street signs are still ·a costly problem. A different type of sign may be considered as rep lacements .

Legislative - An ordinance was presented to council concerning garage sales which will restrict sales to certain days of the week. This is the first reading. It was moved and seconded to p ass the ordinance on the first reading.

Don Champney gave a brief report on St. Anne's and the construction proposed there.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00.
