Fail In Love With Me: The Story Fracasate Conmigo (Fail in Love with Me) is the

second play created and performed by TiTO. The play was created in The Thinking Mountain, Itagui, Colombia and premiered in the III International Theatre Festival in Zarzal, Colombia in September 2011. Since then the play has been finely tuned in TiTO´s apartment and in the park next to his apartment, before being toured through Bolivia at the World Gathering of Youth and Children´s Theatre in Oruro and later performed as part of the International Clown Series in La Paz. The play does not use text and is suitable for all ages!

Robert James Cartwright (TiTO) born November 2nd 1981 in Melbourne, Australia. I currently reside in Chile since 2008. I had never enjoyed drama classes nor theatre, until one day in public square in Mexico, a mime chose me from the audience and used me as a volunteer. Without knowing why, I caused a lot of laughter and the mime invited me to travel with him. I decided not to travel with the mime, however I was left with the taste of making people laugh in public spaces. My formation as a clown has been helped along by many teachers, amongst them, Lerchundi and Escobar, Victor “Tomate” Avalos (Argentina), Luisa Gaillard (France), Johnny Melville (Scotland), Eric de Bont (Holland) y Sue Morrison (Canada). I have also trained in Suzuki Theatre, Viewpoints and Butoh with Zen Zen Zo (Australia), Donnie Maher (USA) and with Carla Lobos, Andres Guttierez and Lobsang Palacios (Chile). During this process, I began playing with clown and slack rope at traffic light intersections, where I learned alot about building rapport with an audience and counting coins.

Biography

Biography In 2009 I was invited to perform in a Street Theatre Festival, but I

did not have a play. And just like that “Falling Towards the Sky” was born. Created in a park on a sunny afternoon, and finely tuned in the following years in Chile´s public squares, the play reached a quality which allowed it to tour Colombia, Perú, Chile and Argentina. The play was then invited to International Theatre Festivals such as MIMAME and The International Theatre Festival in Manizales 2011. And it was also performed in Community Theatre Festivals allowing the show to be shared with many different human beings. I have performed in different public space interventions with Johnny Melville and based on this work, I have developed my own interventions such as the Slack Attack (Slack Rope in public spaces) and Stupid Statue (A human statue performed in clown). In 2012 I performed with the AguaSakra company (directed by Nikola Bahna), winner of the Iberescena project, that premiered the play UMA in July 2012 in Santiago, Chile and was invited to The International Theatre Festival in Manizales 2012. In my free time I continue performing at traffic lights and in different public spaces in Chile.
