Ballot Process • Online applications open 10am Tuesday 12 April 2016 and

close 4pm Tuesday 26 April 2016.

• You or a related party to you can only apply once.

• All names you require on the lease MUST be included on the application form.

• After you submit your online application form you will receive an email confirming your application.

• Your confirmation email will include your registration number.

• Related party checks will be completed by the LDA’s solicitor prior to the ballot draw.

• You will be contacted if there are any discrepancies with your registration.

• You will be notified via email of your place in the draw.

• You need to RSVP by 4pm Monday 16 May 2016 if you wish to continue.

• Only people who confirm their continued interest by this date and time will be allocated an appointment.

• Block selection will commence 24 May 2016.

• Appointments will be allocated in the order of the ballot draw.

• The first 203 appointments are guaranteed a selection.

• If you are unable to attend you can appoint an agent to act on your behalf.

• You should make a list of your block preferences prior to your appointment in case your first choice is selected by a purchaser with an earlier appointment.

• You will be required to exchange contracts immediately after you have selected a block.

• You will need to pay a 5% deposit at block selection. A 10% deposit is required if you are paying by deposit bond.

• Cash will NOT be accepted and you will not be permitted to leave the venue to arrange your payment.

• If your payment is more than the required amount this can be credited towards your settlement or the LDA can arrange for a refund of the difference.

• Proof of identification and address is required at block selection for everyone you wish to have listed on the lease.

• If you are appointing an Agent they will also need to bring a completed Appointment of Agent Form, a copy of your ID and their own ID.

• Stamp Duty is payable 90 days (August 2016) after you exchange contracts.

• Settlement for the blocks in this release is expected to occur between March 2017 and June 2018.

• You will be notified when the LDA has received Operational Acceptance and asked to confirm your details for the Crown Lease.

• You will have 30 days to settle after the LDA issues your lease.

• You are responsible for fencing your block after settlement.

Residential Development Codes – The Residential Development Codes are part of the Territory Plan, and

establish the rules for the design and siting of residential buildings. – The Residential Zones Development Code and the Single Dwelling

What is the size of the Block? – Compact Block 250m2 or less; – Mid-sized Block greater than 250m2 but less than or equal to 500m2,

Exemption Declaration If your proposal complies with all of the relevant rules

except for a minor encroachment of some rules, you may wish to seek an Exemption Declaration from the planning and land authority.

An Exemption Declaration, if granted, can mean that

you can seek Building Approval from a Building Certifier, without the need for a DA.
