The title block shows you what genre the magazine is about through the use of the colours black and white which is clearly what the Rock genre is known for. The use of white streaks could possibly show a guitar string which is an instrument most common in the rock genre as most rock artists are mainly composed in bands. The colours used in the font tells you that the music genre would be more on the dark side in comparison to the use of brighter colours that would hint at pop style genres. The colour, black is used as it is the dominant colour that is used to represent to the Rock genre. As black is a very strong and rebellious type of colour, this would suggest its reason on why it could’ve been chosen. The font of the magazine is simple, bold and capitalised. The connotations this creates would be the presence and ideologies of the rock genre, as rock is known for being very loud and impactful towards its audience the use of this font relates directly to the genre. The style of the font shows white streaks aiming outwards which could indicate something being broken out and smashing, almost like glass when something is too loud or dangerous it breaks. This could give you the idea on the identity of Rock, as it is a genre where all the rules are broken and everyone is at its breaking point. The target audience for this magazine would mainly be Rock enthusiast. They would most likely be in their late teens (15-24) with 60% male and 40% female with personalities of wanting to be rebellious and do something out of their own accord without thinking about the impacts it has on everyone else. The title clearly shows this as it hints on the idea of breaking out of something which for the audience could mean getting out of their comfort zone and finding out their true identity. This could also be the hidden meaning of the title block that the magazine aims to promote.

The title block of the magazine tells you that the genre would be more of classical and iconic genres of music as the font used is very simplistic and classy at the same time. The colours used is the classic black and white indicating that the genre of the magazine would focus more on the highs of music history where they would focus mainly on the best as opposed to other music magazine who focus their cover artists on who the current trend is. The font of the magazine is simple and plain that could show that they would like the audience to focus more on the magazine content in comparison to what it actually looks like, which is very much like how music was before where they didn’t care about who it was singing but focused more on the content and message of the song. Mojo means magic power or charm, this could hint at the idea of where music originated as a charm that brought people together, which could be what the magazine is trying to infer. The target audience for this magazine would be those who enjoy the good old classics with artists such as the Beatles, Queen etc. The average readership is 15-34 years old and is 65% men and 35% women.

The title block indicates that the magazine genre would be something bold and popular which could possibly be R&B or Hip-hop especially with the colours of red, black and white it helps to represent this genre. The font is capitalised paired with the bright colour of red, making it easily identifiable that could also show the target audience it aims towards is a younger audience as those who appeal towards this genre are those in the younger age group. It is also simple yet big and bold which could show the power of the magazine in comparison to others and show that when looking for a magazine this is the main one to have. The logo is very memorable with the letters ‘NME’ it is easily pronounced and flows smoothly making it have an easier appeal towards its audience as other magazine brands like ‘Rolling Stones’ are much harder to pronounce.  The target audience would be teens (19-26), mostly men with 67% and women 33% they would enjoy listening to popular and trendy music and those who enjoy a mix of R&B in that as well.
