We are committed to making sure that our families receive useful information about their child’s learning. Families will receive a Semester 1 Report early in Term 3 and this may be a less detailed school report than usual. Teachers encourage all families to meet with teachers to discuss progress in learning during parent teacher interviews. Uniform: The school, in consultation with families and our P and C, has agreed to make the Hallam girl’s pants a part of our winter uniform. Orders have now been placed and we are looking forward to our girls having a warmer option for winter. Student Absences: A reminder that being on time to school is important. Having a consistent morning routine helps children learn how to become organised. If your child is away for 3 consecutive days, a medical certificate is required. The absence will be considered unjustified if no medical certificate has been received. P&C Fundraisers: There will be cheese toasties available on Monday, 29 June at a cost of $2 each. An order form is attached. Please order by Friday, 26 June. Students can wear casual clothes or their pyjamas to school on Monday. We will also have another sausage sizzle on Thursday, 2 July at a cost of $1 per sausage. An order form is attached. Orders by Wednesday, 1 July. Musica Viva Performance

We have been invited by Musica Viva, to join in a Zoom webinar performance of “Timmy and the Breakfast Band”. This performance will be held on Wednesday 24 June between 11.30am and 12.30pm. The cost of this will be $5 per student. Please return the permission note and money to school by Wednesday morning.

History

Students have been undertaking a historical inquiry about bushrangers. We have been learning about primary and secondary sources, historical artefacts and have given a lot of thought to the Big History Question: Were bushrangers heroes or criminals?

Students will be holding a Q and A with each other via video conference on 1 July at 1.00 pm. Students may dress up as a bushranger (strictly no play weapons please). Parents may attend via video conference. Please let the school know if you would like to be invited to our Teams/Zoom Q and A.

Short Film Festival

Our student leaders are holding a special event. A Short Film Festival! Students will be supported at school to work in groups to make a short film and then this will be shown at school. This is a really exciting initiative. Well done to our Creative Arts Group and Technology Group for having this great idea and leading it.

Shade Sail Survey Thank you to the parents who completed our shade sail survey. The sails look fantastic and some updated photos are on our website.

Dental Check-ups at School

Dental Checks at schools may not continue in 2020 due to COVID 19. All parents/carers are encouraged to arrange a dental check-up for their children. You may want to consider the following options:

1) Call the Goulburn Dental Clinic on 1800 450 056. Please note at this stage we do have a waiting list.

2) Contact your family dentist. 3) Check if you can use your private health insurance with a local private dentist. 4) Medicare Child Dental Benefits Scheme – your child may be eligible and this may allow for

routine treatment at a local private dentist.

Bunnings Voucher Survey Bunnings provided the P&C with $500 worth of vouchers when the BBQ fundraisers had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. We are seeking parent input as to how you think these vouchers should be spent. Please return your survey by Friday, 26 June
