Rules & Guidelines - Tips and Tricks Some limitations of the embedded Acrobat Reader When you view the documents via an Internet Browser the embedded version of the Acrobat Reader is used, which has the following limitations: The full-text search facility over all books is not available. Only the "find" command inside the currently opened document (which is normally a section of a rules chapter) is available. The "previous view" command of the embedded Acrobat Reader works only inside the actual document. To open a previous shown document, use the "previous view" command of the browser. Use the "open in new window" command on the link "Rules & Guidelines" to get more space for the displayed rules. This command can be reached by right-clicking the link "Rules & Guidelines". It is not possible to customize the Acrobat Reader with the embedded version. Use the standalone version of the Acrobat Reader for customizing. The on-line help for the Acrobat Reader is not reachable. Some formulas are shown with grey bars. To avoid this, open the General Preferences dialog from the menu File/Preferences/General and set the "Use Greek Text below" option to 1. Browsing the Table of Contents From the contents file of Rules & Guidelines click the title of the chapter you want to open. A content file of this chapter is shown. Select the section you want to open by clicking the title in the left pane of the window. Additional typical navigation commands: Each section file contains in the left pane an entry for the content file of all chapters (the first entry in the tree-view). Follow this link to get back directly to the main contents file. Each section files contains in the left pane an entry for the content file of the actual chapter (the second entry in the tree-view). When you have followed the hyperlinks inside the rules it is possible to go back with this button . Tips for the Full-Text Search Facility The full-text search dialog can be reached with this button (not with this button , which is the normal find command inside the actual document). Use wildcards if you want to type only the beginning of a word. For example type conta* if you want to search for all words beginning with conta. If you look for an indexed variable like fr type f and r as two words. An index file is automatically attached. There is one index file for the German version and one Index file for the English version available. Activate the "show fields" check box in the Search Preference dialog box. To change search preferences: Choose File > Preferences > Search. Change preferences in the dialog box as necessary.

To change search preferences: Choose File > Preferences > Search. Change preferences in the dialog box as necessary. Click OK. Because the index file is for all books you might want to narrow the search by specifying the books you want to search. For this specify the title or parts of the title in "Title-field" of the search dialog box. In the following example the book with the codeI-1-3 is searched for the words ro-ro.
