It’s bigger than everQUEENSLAND’S biggest outdoor

lifestyle and adventure show – the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and National 4x4 and Outdoors Show – is on again.

The RNA Showgrounds at Bowen Hills once again plays host to this massive event from April 8 to 10, which is a staple on the calendar for outdoor enthusiasts.

In 2011, there will be more on-site parking facilities and more exhibition space than ever before.

“The 2011 show has been expanded and improved upon and we’re expecting record numbers of both visitors and exhibitors,” Marine Queensland events manager Jason Plant said.

Heading the bumper line-up at this year’s event is extreme fi sherman and adrenalin junkie Matt Watson, host of The Ultimate Fishing Show, who will be making special appearances.

Part stuntman, part conservationist and self-confessed mad fi sherman, Watson has been known to wrestle with huge marlin from the fl imsy protection of a jet ski.

Watson pulls off impossible catches, unbelievably big fi sh from ridiculously small boats, and will be sharing his amazing fi shing tips and telling tales about his extreme adventures.

Another drawcard will be former AFL star Peter “Spida” Everitt, host of The Great Australian Doorstep on 7TWO.

He will be on hand to meet fans and offer his tips on how to cook the best barbecue meals at the Waeco Outback Stage.

This is a great day out for the whole family. There’s fi shing, four wheel drives, camper trailers, big and small boats, lures, tents and sleeping bags.

National 4x4 Show & Outdoors Expo event manager Mark Petersen said that to have these names at the 2011 show was exciting news.

“Each year the shows get bigger and better and the 2011 show will continue the trend,” Mr Petersen said.

Show highlights include The Waeco Outback Stage, where outdoor enthusiasts can pick up 4WD tips and techniques, along with camping and cooking advice.

The Action Arena presented by Mickey Thompson and Dirt Comp Magazine is a regular crowd pleaser with a full 4WD test track providing visitors with a hands-on, off-the-beaten track experience.

Mr Petersen said the Action Arena would give patrons the opportunity to learn from qualifi ed instructors and get tips on how to approach hill climbs, rock and log crossings and much more.

Visitors should also make plans to catch the Loveday 4x4 Extreme Show and the Mini Bike Mayhem Stage.

Queensland boaties can look forward to getting the fi rst look at new release boats from Bundaberg boat builder Sea Jay.

Other highlights will include the popular Bream Invitational Fishing Tournament including live weigh-ins every afternoon of the show, plus expert presentations from top speakers including Bill Corten, Dave Downie, Jason Ehrlich and Brett Thomson on the Fishing Expo Stage.

This year will also see the return of the hugely popular Sports Fishing Simulator, where visitors can hook themselves a virtual fi sh.

For kids, the Marine Zone is back – the 2 Bent Rods team will teach children how to fi sh like pros as well as the basics of safe shore-based fi shing practices.

THE world’s toughest camper trailer is about to be unleashed on one of the world’s toughest outdoor environments and one lucky reader of The Courier-Mail could be among the fi rst to own one.
