One thousand police struggled for hours to untangle one of the worst traffic jams in the history of Queens borough. Only a few of the thousands who came from nearby New Jersey, New York and Connecticut communities could get close enough to view the entertainment program.

Few Ixeretse l igMi Only a small percentage of the

qualified voters of Wantagh attend annual school district meetings and exercise their right to vote on the annual budget and other district matters, William H. Becker, member of the board of education, found in a recent survey of the district, he said todaT.

"I found many persons who believed because they are not owners of property, that they do not have the right to vote," he declared. T h i s erroneous impression should be corrected. Any citizen who has lived in the district for 30 days prior to the annual meeting, who is a rentpayer or hold* a lease on property, or is under possension of contract to purchase real property, is qualified to vote, as well as owners of property, always providing he has the usual qualifications to vote In town, county and state elections.''

Mr. Becker points out met a large percentage of all taxes paid by Nassau residents go to pay for education and that It is the duty of every citizen to interest themselves- in securing trustees for boards of education who will beat administer these funds.
