Goals of TimePlot Initiative

• Expand ways in which time can be visualized to reflect changing ways of representing and experiencing time and history

• View changing temporal perspective within single novel, and compare novels and larger corpora to track overall trends

Two Stages to Project

• Create TimePlot tool (web-based, customizable, user-friendly time plot maker); gather data from limited number of texts by canonical authors for trial run

• Expand corpora of texts mapped; make TimePlot tool available to public; host completed and peer-reviewed time plots on web-based display tools
