midnight to the next midnight. It shows how many hours and minutes have passed since midnight.

at 5:45pm, then the elapsed time can be calculated using a T-chart as follows:

3:15 pm 5:45pm

4:15 pm 1 hour

5:15 pm 1 hour

5:25 pm 10 min

5:35 pm 10 min

5:45 pm 10 min

The total elapsed time is 1 hr +1 hr + 10 min + 10min + 10min

= 2 hr and 30 min
