Students will learn how to convert between the 24 hour notation and the 12 hour notation.

VocabO 24 hour clock – is a way of keeping time from

midnight to the next midnight. It shows how many hours and minutes have passed since midnight.

O Full day – divided into 24 hours, from 00:00 to 23:00

O AM = Ante Meridiem – meaning before midday in Latin

O PM= Post Meridiem – meaning after midday

Why?O Why do we use 24 hour time?

O If we just used the digital time 07:00 how would we know if it meant 7 o’clock in the morning or at night.

at 5:45pm, then the elapsed time can be calculated using a T-chart as follows:
