ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT-The purpose of this study is to (1.To analyze the remaining work itemsat month of 14th from the project starts, 2). To analyze the remaining cost items at month of14th after the project start. And the last is 3). To reschedule and to optimize the time and costby use Critical Path Method (CPM).

This study will analyze time and cost controlling by using CPM approach on theproject. Based on the background of the study, the statements of the problems can beformulated as follows: (1) How is rescheduling in optimization of time on Palur Fly over ofSurakarta by using Critical Path Method (CPM)? and (2) How is the implement of the normaland the crash of the cost on Palur flyover in Surakarta by using Critical Path Method (CPM)?.The writer analyzed the fly-over project implementation fly over Palur in Surakarta whetheraccording to the time plan. By rescheduling the plan and make optimization of time andminimizing cost with CPM (Critical Path Method).

Based on the result and discussion, the conclusion of this research as follows: Theimplementation of the project is not in accordance with the plan, it is too late because of theweather and can be solved by increasing the valve of workers. Based on the reschedulingalternatives can be implemented as the alternative I with 160 days shorter and the rest of costRp 32.556.381.150

Keywords: Critical Path Method (CPM), Project Management, Time Control, and Costcontrol.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Bismillahirrahmaanirrahiim

Assalaamu’alaikum wr.wb.

Alhamdulillahirrahmaanirrahiim, praise and gratitude to the most Merciful Allah

Ta’ala, for blessing the writer in finishing this Thesis entitled TIME AND COST

CONTROLLING USING CRITICAL PATH METHOD (CASE STUDY

AT PALUR FLY-OVER SURAKARTA) as one of the requirement for getting the

Postgraduate Degree in Civil Engineering Program. The researchers do not forget to praise to

the messenger, our prophet Muhammad S A W, and his followers.

The writer really realizes that he cannot finish this research because of great attention,

motivation, material, and support given by his parents, relatives, beloved ones, friends, and

others. In addition, the writer also thanks much to the people who helped him to complete this

research paper. Therefore, the writer wants to dedicatee his sincerest gratitude for all them.

The writer would like to express his appreciation to those ones. They are: Nurul

Hidayati, ST, MT., Ph.D, as the Head of Magister of Civil Engineering Study. The next is

Mohamad Solikin, PhD, as the first consultant for his kindness in guiding, helping, teaching

to the writer and also Ir. M. Muh Nursahid, M.M., M.T as the second consultant for his

patience in guiding the writer to complete this thesis. With the third examiner Sri Sunarjono,

Ph.D from the buttonm of his hearth, the writer would like to devote his everlasting mercy

and thanks so much for your time besides precautio.

NO workcan be done perfectly , nor can this research paper. The witer expects that

this research paper will become useful for the development of academic study and following

research.
