As the School Fundraising Director, it is my privilege & honor to work with educators and to support their schools and communities. I have been involved with education all my life. I have a family lineage of teachers, coaches, and school administrators, and have worked with schools professionally over 30 years. Simply, I have real convictions in wanting to serve schools and I believe this initiative has great value for schools and communities. I am proud to be part of the American Furniture team that takes pride in the products and services we provide to thousands of families and the communities they live in.

Getting Started:

Submit a Application Request to register your school ID and receive a sample community invitation and simple agreement for review.

Decide whether you want to finalize your annual accumulative dona-tion after AFW’s August “Back to School” event or after a community shopping rally according to an AFW store schedule.

What marketing assistance can we provide to you? It’s your choice to use the following that we can provide at NO COST to you:

All promotional digital artwork, which includes community invitation flyer and social media graphics with your school code.

Recommended email and social media guidelines. Color paper copies of community invitation flyer for distribution purposes, 2 sets worth and up to 1,000 copies per set.

Up to 20 full-color 11”x17” posters.

Better Your Home, Better Your SchoolTM

Participating in a “Better Your Home, Better Your School” community campaign is simple! Any tax-exempt K-12 school in Col-orado and Arizona can participate. Upon registering a Partner ID, schools can begin to benefit immediately from their own com-munity’s purchases. A partnering school’s patrons can purchase at any time from any of our stores, purchase on-line, or purchase over the phone to support their school. With school support and cooperation through a community invitation to parents, friends, and others to come shop at our stores, AFW will track all partner ID purchas-es and reward that school with a donation of 2-4%* of the subtotal (before taxes and delivery) of all these purchases. Support can come from purchases out-of-communi-ty and out-of-state as well, anywhere AFW ships (which is almost every state). Then, partner schools further capitalize by joining AFW in our July/August “Back to School” event to finalize their annual accumulative donation which is presented to them in September.

Option - According to an available store schedule, a school might want to choose to have AFW host a 10-day community shop-ping Rally exclusive for them in our stores. This opportunity lends itself to being more marketable, and will act as a “final push” so-to-speak to maximize and finalize that current running fundraiser. The accumula-tive school donation is then presented after this time period.

All customer purchases supporting a partner school during a commu-nity shopping rally and

AFW’s Back to School event come with additional customer and school incentives. Customers who purchase during these opportunities earn a chance to win an AFW $500 gift card. AFW will also match an additional $500 donation back to the school they supported. These rewards will be presented and delivered at the end of the year.

Schools can take advantage of AFW’s marketing assistance. We offer marketing materials free of charge. AFW can provide promotional artwork design, marketing collateral, guidelines, and instructions that will assist a school with its own community invitation to their store events. * Simmons will match 2% of their subtotal on mattress purchases in addition to AFW’s 2%.

AFW will be hosting the following 10-day (Friday – the following 2nd Sunday) Community Shopping Rally opportunities in stores that will finalize your school’s accumulated annual donation. AFW will deliver your donation within 30 days after the last day of the Rally date your school declares. Dates in RED need to be avoided. *Schools do have the option to coincide their fundraising efforts as part of AFW’s July/August “Back to School” event (a built-in Rally date for all school partners anyway) to receive their accumulative annual donation in September. Please declare a Rally date that works best for your school. Any purchases made after your declared date will be carried over toward your next declared date and schools must declare at least one date per year to receive their accumulative donation benefit from all annual purchases. Schools can also declare more than one Rally date per year. Keep in mind, AFW will provide preparatory marketing recommendations prior to the Rally dates, including AFW’s Back to School event. This allows the needed introduction to hopefully “rally” your school community to participate and help maximize your annual accumulative donation. All marketing collateral, including designs, props, and guidelines provided at AFW’s cost and is your school’s choice to use or not.
