Transcript of TIGER Talk 2018–20 FRONT€¦ · performance was GREAT! Our kids look so forward to the TIGER...
I wanted you to know that TIGER gave an awesome
performance at our school. It was amazing!I can't get over the timing. We had the performance of
Brand New Day set for Thursday morning, not knowing that
we would have a tragic loss of a student due to a house fire.
The funeral was Tuesday, and we had a school candlelight
vigil Wednesday evening. So, TIGER coming to us the morning
after the vigil with their message of resilience filled an
important need for both school and staff. Our student was
named after a celestial event, so our vigil included verses
about stars and going outside to see the stars. Well,
didn't TIGER end their performance with these words:
"A bright shining star, you can go far..." Oh, my...!! Betty Mulrey Director of Curriculum and Instruction

I have to tell you, I got an overwhelming
positive response from both students and
staff about TIGER. I had trouble getting
kids to leave the gym because they wanted
to know when the TIGERS would be
back. Everyone was coming up to me telling
me how wonderful it was, and how well
the message fits into our already existing
"shared values" curriculum. In fact, we
decided to add “resilience” to our “shared
values” after seeing the assembly. It was
extremely well received, and we look
forward to having you again! Thanks!

I was so impressed, not only byhow talented the cast was, but also with how to
the point and well said the content was. Those were allsuch important messages for our students to hear. The actors brought so much life to those important
words, it was exciting, energetic, and so much fun!
I was able to see the TIGER performance, and it was so so good! I think the reactions of the students really said it all, too. After seeing many TIGER performances as younger students, I think the middle school students loved that Bystander: A Portrait in Apathy was totally geared toward their current social concerns.
