To: All DOC Adults in Custody

From: Michael Gower, Assistant Director for the Operations Division

Subject: MP3 Program / Secure Mail – 5000 Character Programming Change Effective July 10, a programming change within Secure Mail (Mp3 program) will enable adults in custody to compose longer electronic messages – up to 5000 characters. Based on the system’s prior limitation of character length, the department initially made the decision to allow adults in custody to send out limited character messages at no charge until a technical programming resolu-tion was reached to allow more characters. With the programming in place to correct the prior character limitation, the cost to adults in custody will change. Beginning August 1, 2014, charges will be the same as what friends and family mem-bers are currently paying for this communication tool. The exact price of communications depends upon the options your friends and family have chosen. Contact For questions about this programming change, you may dial 211# from any Telmate phone or send a Kyte addressed to: Telmate @ CDC Building. Friends and family may contact Telmate custom-er service at 1-866-516-0115.
