Call To WorshipMany/AllAll the young people are on stage for this speaking one set of lines, and the entirerest of the denomination (and therein the older generations) are responding.

The Future (many): We remember. We remember all that has been done to make a wayfor us,

to bring us to this moment. The Present (all): We believed in the possibility of a different world. With PRIDE, we seethe

new world that only you can bring into existence. The Future: We thank you for standing up to forces that would have silenced our people

forever. For standing against governments, churches, schoolsprincipalities andpowers of all sorts.

The Present: And we entrust to you the same challenge. To stare down injusticewherever you

encounter it, believing that one day equality, peace, and unity will be achieved. The Future: If not for you, we would not be here.

The Present: If not for you, the next generation of MCC will never be.The Future: Will you help us reach them? The Present: Yes, we solemnly commit to reaching them! But will you teach us how toreach

them? The Future: Yes, we solemnly commit to teaching you how to speak to the young peopleof

today and tomorrow. The Present: We confess we are a bit scared of all the change they may bring. The Future: We confess we coming bringing change.ALL: May God help us as we journey into the unknown future to which we are called.

Reading Ecclesiastes 3:1-5Imani SullivanFor everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to beborn, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time tokill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, anda time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to throw away stones, anda time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain fromembracing.

The endbut not the endthe futures future (this script should NOT be put on thescreens)Younger Group: Whatsup guys? So you think you are the future? We are the future ofthe future! We are going to transform this church. We will make it straight. We willkeep it young. We will reach out to a new audience. MCC will become more than a GLBT

rights church. It will be a church with and edge to it that reaches those tired of doctrine, religion, and empty promises of change.Older Group Conversation:Person One: They are going to change everything! How can we stop them?Person Two: We cant stop them.Person Three: It is wrong to stop them. Things are supposed to change.Person One: But how are we supposed to rest and make sure we have what we want ifthings are always changing?Person Two: I read somewhere that one of our early leaders from back in the first 60years of MCC used to say, You can always have your way if you have more than oneway. (Lillie Brock)

Person Three: So, you see, the only way to move forward is to learn to live in andcelebrate change.Person Two: Yeah, just have to let go!Person One: Okay, we let go. But then what do we do?Person Three: You bask in the freedom MCC continues to bring to the world.Person Two: You celebrate! All: Yeahyou Just Dance!
