The Royal Treatment... With the majority of GI Preakness S. starters slated toarrive at Pimlico late on Wednesday, the place to beyesterday morning was Fair Hill Training Center, currentdigs of GI Kentucky Derby hero Animal Kingdom

(Leroidesanimaux {Brz}).Located on abreathtaking piece ofproperty in CecilCounty, Maryland, thefacility--a scenic 15-minute drive off I-95and about 60 milesfrom Pimlico--is spreadout over 350 stunningacres, with an additional5,600 acres of state

land adjoining. On a damp, overcast morning with temperatures inthe 60s following another night of rain, media packedthe wooden-framed clocker=s stand as Animal Kingdomdeparted Graham Motion=s barn shortly before 9 a.m.Team Valor principal and former Turf writer Barry Irwinfit right in among the crowd of approximately 30 as thesun tried to peak through the threatening dark cloudswhile Motion walked with a set of trainees, keeping aclose eye on the big horse. With the Fair Hill main track left saturated, AnimalKingdom, accompanied by a stable pony, made his waythrough the underground tunnel to the all-weatherTapeta inner track. The chestnut, sporting a whitePreakness saddle cloth, was curious to see what all thefuss was about when jogging by the clocker=s stand forthe first time, but was all business throughout hisstrong 1 3/4-mile gallop. Irwin, rocking his regularshades and a flashy yellow striped cap, was the first toexit the stand once the GIII Vinery Racing Spiral S.winner=s work was complete. Motion patiently awaitedAnimal Kingdom=s return from the track, then led thecavalry charge on foot back through the adjacentwoods to his shedrow just before 9:30 a.m. Irwin held court outside of the barn as AnimalKingdom cooled out under the watchful eye of histrainer. How has the homebred handled all of theattention since winning the Run for the Roses?Apparently, quite well. He wouldn=t go back to the barnafter grazing in front of a crowd on Tuesday until apony came out to get him, per Irwin. AHe thinks he=s running the show, and he probablyis,@ Irwin deadpanned.

Motion was up next to meet the press, politely

directing the group away from the barn entrance as

horses continued to make their way to and from the

track. The affable conditioner had some fun discussing

Animal Kingdom=s demeanor as well, explaining how

the sophomore wouldn=t turn around in his stall when a

Congressman came to visit the other day.

AHe must be a Democrat,@ Motion said with a smile.

Wigmore Hall (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}), whodefeated Presvis into third in the G2 Jebel Hatta Mar. 3,has overcome a minor hiccup since he touched down inSingapore and had his first bit of serious workWednesday. AWe had a bit of a scare [when he pulled ashoe on Monday], but he=s all good now,@ said GillianDolman, travelling head lass for trainer Michael Bell. AHewas fine, no problem at all. If anything he was a littlefresh after his day off yesterday, but I=m happy enoughwith him now. I=m going to put on these overreachboots on him now--just to be safe.@ Wigmore Hall was11th last time out in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup atSha Tin over the SIA Cup distance in a race which wasnot run to suit his style. Chinchon (Ire) (Marju {Ire}) has had just one run thisseason, a fifth to Rewilding (Ire) (Tiger Hill {Ire}) in theG1 Dubai Sheema Classic Mar. 26, did not exactly havehis mind on training Wednesday morning. AHe refusedto head out to the track this morning,@ said StephaneLaurent Duprey, groom and track rider to trainer CarlosLaffon-Parias. AHe did eventually when someone camealong and led him out, and we just had a nice hack over1000 meters afterwards. I wished I had a pony like inthe U.S. It=s not a great game when you need to coaxyour horse to work like that.@ Chinchon=s mostimportant win came in last year=s GI United Nations S.at Monmouth Park.

Sunday, Kranji Racecourse, SingaporeSINGAPORE AIRLINES KRISFLYER INTERNATIONALSPRINT-G1, S$1,000,000, 3yo/up, 1200mT Jockey Glen Boss took former world championsprinter Sacred Kingdom (Aus) (Encosta de Lago {Aus})for a test drive for the first time Wednesday morning asthe Hong Kong raider attempts to land the KrisFlyer forthe second time in the last three years. The 2009winner has been ridden at home by Brett Prebble, butwhen rumors began to fly that connections werelooking for a new rider, Boss stepped in. The Australianwas pleased with what he felt underneath him. AHe=s aloose, free type of horse,@ said Boss. AHe just oozesclass. He has plenty of energy and I will be on him forsome fast work. I think he=s looking for that. What I feltthis morning was good. I can=t fault him. He wasperfect.@ Trainer Ricky Yiu was scheduled to arriveWednesday from Hong Kong to oversee the gelding=sfinal preparations. Post positions for both of Sunday=sraces will be drawn today.

Nathaniel Could Be Epsom Bound... Lady Rothschild's Nathaniel (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) couldtake up his engagement in the June 4 G1 Epsom Derby, trainer John Gosden announced yesterday. Runner-upto Treasure Beach (GB) (Galileo {Ire}) in the May 5 G3 Chester Vase when last seen, the 3/4-brother to thestable's 2004 Derby fourth Percussionist (Ire) (Sadler'sWells) has pleased his conditioner since that 12-furlongtrial. AI like him a great deal and he's come on hugelysince Chester,@ Gosden said yesterday. AHe had to learna lot around there, and I'll discuss with the owner if shewants to leave him in the Derby--he would appreciate itif the heavens opened, but it looks like we might notget rain until the autumn.@

Galikova on Target for Diane... Connections of J “TDN Rising Star” J Galikova(Fr) (Galileo {Ire}) have confirmed that she is set to runin the G1 Prix de Diane at Chantilly June 12. Impressiveon her latest start when winning the G3 Prix CleaopatreMay 7, the Wertheimers= half-sister to Goldikova (Ire)(Anabaa) is on track for the 1 5/16-mile Classic, according to trainer Freddy Head. AWe=re going to thePrix de Diane with her, and I am very happy with her--she is very well,@ Head told PA Sport. AIt would be greatif she could win a Group 1 like her sister. We will seeand cross our fingers.@ The owner/breeders= RacingManager Pierre-Yves Bureau added, AThe filly is verywell after her win the other day, and it is going to bevery exciting to see her in the Prix de Diane. Hopefully, she will be a challenger to Golden Lilac (Ire) (Galileo{Ire}), who was very impressive in the French Guineas.I think the Prix de Diane is going to be a veryinteresting competition this year. This filly has morestamina than Goldikova, being by Galileo, and she isvery different physically. She looks more like aClassic-distance filly. The distance in the Prix de Dianewill not be a problem--we will have to see if she is thebest or not. That will be the question.@

The recommendations wereformed by an advisory committee that met numeroustimes to review 810 KAR 1:070, which governs KBIF. United States. " Recognize Woodbine under the USA component." Redistribute the Kentucky Claiming component to the

Back to amile and to winning ways in a fillies-only handicap atSalisbury last time May 5, the bay showed she had therequisite staying power for this extra trip to open herblack-type account and book a potential Classic ticket.Again free initially, the homebred soon settled for a leadas Highest was sent on to make stamina count. Shehad saved enough energy to reel in that rival passingthe furlong marker. AI couldn't be more impressed withthe way she won, but the question is what did shebeat,@ trainer John Dunlop commented. ATed [Durcan] isdubious about her staying a mile and a half, but I thinkshe will, as they didn't go very fast early on here andshe settled very well. I think she's got a bit of class, she acted well around here, and if she was mine, I'drun her in the [June 3, G1] Epsom Oaks--I suspect theowner will want to run there, too.@ John Gosden said ofthe second and third, AHighest and Imperial Pippinaren't in the Oaks, but I have no fears about runningthem both in the G2 Ribblesdale S.
