Beech Hill Specialist Teachers On Friday 9th September, an important assembly was held in which our specialist teachers made a pledge to the children at Beech Hill to support them with their learning in 'The Arts'. Miss Christabel is still our specialist drama teacher. We are continuing to work with Mr Bullock and Mr Boylan on Tuesday afternoons and we also welcome Mrs Scholes to our team - she will teach music throughout KS1 and KS2. This was what she had to say after her first teaching sessions at Beech Hill: “The year 4s I taught were fabulous and I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the children too. You are one of the best well behaved, focused and attentive school of children I have ever met.”
Additionally, we are excited to announce that Winston Plowes is now officially our Poet in Residence. He worked with Y6 last year on their Poetry Quest project, which finished with a performance at the Square Chapel. He is looking forward to spending more time at Beech Hill and having the opportunity to work with all the children in years 1-6. If you see him around school, you will recognise him by his medal and tie! During the assembly, the children were enthralled by special performances from each member of staff

FAMILY CHALLENGE
Do you fancy partaking in a 'Family Challenge' activity? It is GUARANTEED to: - bring your whole family together - bring smiles to your faces - develop your child's communication and emotional skills - create laughter and improve confi-dence levels Well, every half term our families will be set an exciting chal-lenge to complete. Are you up for it? This half term's challenge is... to play a board game to-gether as a family. We would love to hear all about it and see you having lots of fun. Please take plenty of photos or create a small video and send it into school for us to display. Email photographs [email protected] or alterna-tively hand the evidence of the completed challenge to your child's class teacher.
We hope all of our families accept the first challenge and have lots of fun completing it! Good luck

advise from Ella from
the Better Living Team
on a healthy life style.
Congratulations and a huge well
done to Portugal, New Zealand and Mexico class for achieving the
highest attendance. This is a great start to our new academic year and
will hopefully be the start of an outstanding year for you.
Sadly, as a school we did not achieve our target, which is 96%. I must
reiterate the importance of all pupils attending school promptly and
regularly. Where pupils attendance begins to drop below the national
average a referral will be made to the Education Welfare Officer, also
Known as a EWO.
As a school we aim to provide the very best for our pupils and can only
achieve this with parent/carer support.
Thank you
