Sarah Ho, Creative Director of SHO Fine Jewellery, brings a fresh new look to jewellery with a modern approach to a traditional product, a contemporary twist to create a modern classic.

SHO was founded by Creative Director Sarah Ho who has a passion for jewellery and gemstones. Her inspiration comes from her strong family heritage, important milestones in her life and a keen interest in architecture and fashion, which has led to innovative designs and avant-garde jewellery in 18ct gold and silver.

Each collection is a life chapter and each piece has a story to tell. Sarah says “Writers have words to express themselves; I have jewellery to express mine”.

The silver Mari Collection has its own story. ‘Mari’ is the Sardinian word for sea, inspired by the country where her husband was born and Sarah was married. Gently carved water droplets feature in every piece with a playful use of colour through the gemstones, set in silver or silver vermeil.

Sarah was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Macau and was educated in the UK before starting SHO Fine Jewellery in 2006. She has since been honoured with a number of industry Awards and Accolades for her work and recently launched Sarah Ho Couture, a chance to indulge in special bespoke pieces with more unusual precious and semi-precious stones.

The Oyster Perpetual SKY-DWELLER presented at Baselworld 2012 is the latest addition to the Oyster collection, a compelling timepiece of revolutionary design that blends to perfection technological sophistication and ease of use.

With 14 patents – five of which are new – the SKY-DWELLER provides, in an unprecedented and highly original way, the information global travellers need to easily keep track of time: a dual time zone, with local time read via centre hands and a reference time display in 24-hour format read via a rotating off-centre disc visible on the dial; a particularly innovative annual calendar named SAROS – in tribute to the astronomical phenomenon which inspired it – that requires only one date adjustment a year, when the month changes from February to March; and a month display by means of 12 discreet apertures around the circumference of the dial.

A majestic expression of the art of watchmaking and the product of Rolex’s exceptional technical expertise, the SKY-DWELLER is as intuitive to read as it is simple to use. Local time, reference time and the date are rapidly set using a highly innovative interface between the case and movement. The rotatable RING COMMAND bezel is the focal point of the interface, allowing the wearer to select the individual functions to be set simply by

turning the bezel. Each function can then be adjusted swiftly and easily in both directions by means of the winding crown, which has only one setting position.

Released in 2012, The wonderfully over-engineered Bremont World Timer is perfect for pilots and travellers all over the world.

Features UTC dual time-zone display, 3 sub-dial chronograph automatic movement in a 43mm case with roto-click bezel. Available in black, white or blue.

SOLO

Inspired by the classic pilot’s watches from the 1940’s, the Bremont SOLO comes in two striking dial variants; black and white. The beautifully finished automatic movement is housed in a 43mm hardened case, water resistant to 10 ATM (100 meters) with an exhibition case back.

New for 2012 is the SOLO-37 range, with a 37mm hardened case and available with a black dial with stainless steel bezel, or, a white dial with stainless steel or 18-carat rose gold top bezel.

VICTORY LIMITED EDITION

Bremont Watch Company announces a very special Limited Edition timepiece made with original copper and oak from HMS Victory.

Bremont is delighted to be working with The National Museum of the Royal Navy (Ports-mouth) to create a Limited Edition watch unlike any other watch ever created. Each mechanical retrograde watch will be made with original parts of HMS Victory built into it.

HMS Victory, as with any ship, has had con-stant work carried out on her over the years. The ship sustained considerable damage after the battle of Trafalgar and had a major re-fit in 1814 and 1888 and then in 1903 following an accident where she was almost sunk on her mooring as a result of being struck by anoth-er boat. In 1910 the Society for Nautical Re-search was set up and in 1922 she was placed into dry dock where she currently stands.

Many years of exposure have taken their toll on HMS Victory and in 2010 a major refit was commissioned to preserve her for future generations. To commemorate Nelson and HMS Victory, Bremont is producing a totally unique watch that will include parts of oak timber and copper from the original ship. Part of the proceeds of each watch will go towards the refurbishment and preservation of the ship.
