Geometry students will be finding area of regular polygons using apothems and special right triangles. We
will review Thursday and test Friday.
Algebra 2 students will continue with their inverse unit, finding logarithms and using them in equations. We
will review and test the latter part of this week.

tions, using a table to find the exponential equations, and identifying key characteristics of exponential
graphs.

Next week in English I, we'll be writing an essay that effectively uses transition words and phrases. The essay will be a major grade. We will be working on proofreading and revising skills by analyzing our essays. We'll also be going over the reading sec-tion of our benchmark exam and practicing the objectives that were most difficult for us.

12th English: Students will continue our study of The Kite Runner. They will continue to exam the social and
political setting of Afghanistan as well as the literary context of the book.

Students will continue studying poetry and will begin writing their own poetry. Eventually they will compose a chapbook. This
chapbook will be a five week long project.

Students are writing their college entrance exams. Rough drafts are due Monday for Writer’s Workshop. Final drafts (edited
and revised) will be due by the end of the week.

mation about the food we eat.
Parents please remember the Field Trip for FCS. All students must have their ticket and lunch paid for by
February 28, 2017. $17 pays for both. The trip will be on May 16, 2017, all day to Scarborough Faire in Waxa-
hachie. Checks can be made out to Tolar FCCLA. Students that do not go on the Field trip will have an as-
signment left at the school that will be due that day.
