May 27, 2018 ~ The Most Holy Trinity The Trinity The three persons of the Trinity demonstrate that God is a personal God. Jesus is intimate with the Father. The Spirit is intimate with Jesus and the Father. Have we experienced the personal God? The traditional trinitarian formula in the Mass has us pray in unity with the Holy Spirit through the Son to the Father. So, I would like to focus on the Father. My question is, do you pray to the Father?Yes or no. How do pray to the Father? Is the Father attainable or is He far away? I would like to give my thoughts about the Father. First, of all the Father is always present. In all of our moments, every second, the Father is watching over us. That may freak us out. There are parts of our lives that perhaps we dont want God to see. Which leads me to my second point, the Father is all forgiving. I dont know why we call it the Prodigal Son. It should be called the prodigal Father. Prodigal means having or giving something on a lavish scale. In the story the father is look- ing for the son, forgives him before he can even apologize, and throws a party for his son. Our Father is lavish in His forgiveness. Our Father is looking for us even in our denial to come back home. Finally, the Father is completely personal. Jesus called the Father, abba, daddy. Has it been a while since you talked, just talked without pretense to God. Your Father is waiting for you to come home. God bless, Fr. May 27, 2018 ~ The Most Holy Trinity

The Trinity The three persons of the Trinity demonstrate that God is a personal God. Jesus is intimate with the Father. The Spirit is intimate with Jesus and the Father. Have we experienced the personal God? The traditional trinitarian formula in the Mass has us pray in unity with the Holy Spirit through the Son to the Father. So, I would like to focus on the Father. My question is, “do you pray to the Father?” Yes or no. How do pray to the Father? Is the Father attainable or is He far away? I would like to give my thoughts about the Father. First, of all the Father is always present. In all of our moments, every second, the Father is watching over us. That may freak us out. There are parts of our lives that perhaps we don’t want God to see. Which leads me to my second point, the Father is all forgiving. I don’t know why we call it the Prodigal Son. It should be called the prodigal Father. Prodigal means having or giving something on a lavish scale. In the story the father is look-ing for the son, forgives him before he can even apologize, and throws a party for his son. Chris

Stewardship Prayer of St. Ignatius Loyola

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my un-

derstanding and my entire will – all that I have and call my

own.

You have given it all to me.

To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is yours; do with it what you will.

Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for

me.

FOR IT IS IN GIVING THAT WE RECEIVE

“The Spirit itself bears wit-

ness with our spirit that we

are children of God, and if

children then heirs, heirs of

God and joint heirs with

Christ…” – ROMANS 8:16-

17

If we are heirs to the king-

dom of God, shouldn’t we

work to build up His king-

dom? Shouldn’t we be

good stewards of our in-

heritance, using our time in

prayer, our talent in chari-

table works and our treas-

ure to care for the Church

that God has left to us?

Our Church is a treasured

heirloom from God. Do we

treat it that way?

Weekly Reflection Our celebration of the Most Holy Trinity is an in-vitation for us to continue to move beyond our selves. The feast reminds us of the powerful ways that God remains at work in the world: in the on-going act of creation, in the gifts of healing and reconciliation, and the life-giving Spirit that in-spires faith, hope, and love. This is something ex-traordinary to remember and celebrate each and every day.
