Through all our work we support young people to: grow in self-esteem, build positive relationships, live purposefully and be resilient learners Creative and Effective Support with The Rock Our projects combine engaging positive activities with experienced individual support. We work flexibly with schools and other agencies to create dedicated programmes in our safe and inspiring setting. Our venue offers much needed space for young people, it includes a sports hall, double kitchen and an inspiring church space. The Rock offers a unique whole life model with multiple opportunities to access ongoing youth work support through our evening community youth work. Our team includies a qualified teacher and youth workers with a wealth of experience at effectively supporting young people to engage with education. Types Of Support The Rock Provides The Rock works with groups or individual young people from age 9 (School Year 5) up to 18 years old. We provide primary- secondary transition work, early intervention secondary work, up to support for hard to reach / NEETs. We also undertake self-esteem groups for girls. Most projects are based at The Rock, but we do run group work and/or mentoring in schools. Projects can be a half or full day, usually lasting at least 8 weeks through to a year long project . Activity days, young leadership development, after school groups, SMSC days and reward activities are also available. Examples Of Activities We Use Digital Photography, Cooking, Team Building, Sports, Circus Skills, Film Making, Music, Art, Mountain Biking, Community Projects, Mentoring, Scooting, Hands on SMSC, Careers Visits, Support with CVs. Where possible activities are also accredited. Which Agencies Does The Rock Work With? We work primarily with schools or social care agencies in Cheltenham and the surrounding area. For many projects we are able to offer transportation which also means we can work further afield. Since January 2013 we have worked with over 17 local schools and agencies. We pride ourselves on our effetcive communication with schools and agencies. What Others Say About Us ‘There is no doubt that without the Rock’s intervention students would have been permanently excluded from our school. The work they carry out is invaluable!
