GHHI History

1986Parents Against Lead, a grassroots organization dedicated to

fighting lead poisoning, is founded in Baltimore.

2009CECLP expands to The Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI)

to focus more broadly on healthy housing.

1993The Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning (CECLP) is

formed, with the mission of ending childhood lead poisoning

in the United States.

2017GHHI currently operates in over 30

sites nationally, working to spread

best practices for healthy housing

around the country.

1999Based on feedback from the crew working in homes, CECLP

begins incorporating general healthy housing for children in an

expansion of the Coalition’s services.

2016National Lead Summit held; Strategic Plan to End

Childhood Lead Poisoning: A Blueprint for Action is

published.
