    Benghazi on the night of the attack were put out by the StatDepartment as the attack unfolded. CBS broke the story.

    Email one: At 4:05 p.m. Eastern time, Tuesday September 11 2012,n alert from the State Department Operations Center was issued to a

    number government and intelligence agencies. Included were thehite House Situation Room, the office of the Director of National

    Intelligence and the FBI. It read: "US Diplomatic Mission in BenghaziUnder Attack" -- "approximately 20 armed people fired shots;xplosions have been heard as well. Ambassador Stevens, who isurrently in Benghazi, and four COM (Chief of Mission/embassy)ersonnel are in the compound safe haven."

    Email two: At 4:54 p.m. the State Department Operations Centerends out another alert. It read: "the firing... in Benghazi...hastopped...A response team is on site attempting to locate COM

    (embassy) personnel."

    Email three: At 6:07 p.m. the State Department Operations Centerends out another alert saying the embassy in Tripoli reported the

    Islamic military group "Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility forenghazi Attack"... "on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an

    ttack on Embassy Tripoli."
