Guidance to solve the problem: Laminar Fluid Flow through a Pipe with
Circular Cross Section (3D) using Ansys
The document is made by Kumar Samal (Roll No. 514ME1007, Institute
Research Scholar) and Dr. Suman Ghosh (Assistant Professor)

Problem StatementConsider fluid flowing through a circular pipe of constant radius. The pipe diameter D= 0.2 m and
length L= 8 m. Consider the inlet velocity to be constant over the crosssection and equal to 1 m/s.
The pressure at the pipe outlet is 1 atm. Take density = 1 kg/ m3and coefficient of viscosity = 2
103kg/(ms). These parameters havebeen chosen to get a desired Reynolds number of 100 and don't
correspond to any real fluid.
