There is no moment like today to begin preparing for tomorrow. As we begin this journey

of transition, I believe this axiom to be true for Madison Park. What a great ride God gave this church with Pastor Jim Lyon providing leadership for the past 22 years. In many ways, it is hard to imagine that season coming to a close; but in other ways, it feels right. Jim has been called to a position that he was prepared for. Madison Park is a congregation with solid and seasoned leadership and God’s plan is always to move his people beyond the status quo. Looking toward the future is not dismal or daunting. Nehemiah—OneLifeJuly Sermon SeriesNehemiah was an amazing person and leader. His life is a prime example of how God takes the ordinary and does extraordinary things through it. He is a man who moves out of his comfort zone, goes to a place with complicated and difficult issues, enlists the help of a band of stragglers and left overs, faces criticism from mean spirited people, perseveres through great adversity and accomplishes the impossible. All in a day’s work for God!

been put in place is made up of conscientious and forward thinking people. Trust me, none of these folks accepted their position based on their need to have a place at the table. They are people who prayerfully considered the role asked of them and said yes only after sensing God’s leading to do so. Madison Park, we should all be very thankful that God has put in place the leadership we need to lead us through this journey. As we make our way through the transition, some temporary staff changes were necessary to cover the bases in lieu of my role changing. Kelli Bays, Doug Linville, Marti Euneman and Mickey Foley are moving into some vital temporary roles to assist our congregation at this time. Brief descriptions of each person’s new responsibilities are listed below. I hope you will take the time to thank each one of them for their willingness to step up at such a critical time in the life of our church. In closing, let me share Ellen’s and my deep appreciation for the privilege to walk with you through this season of change.
