During the 19th and 20th centuries the landscape of Sydneys southeast, the area spanning from Centennial Park to Botany Bay, changed dramatically. This change is most notably apparent in the physi-cal transformation of the wetlands and marshes to a dense urban development, regulated streets and modern buildings. Underpinning this shift in physical charac-ter, however, were broader cultural forces and intricacies that shaped and influenced the transformations within the built en-vironment. The architectural design of the Matraville Library (ML) aims to ex-plore the dramatic changes in the physi-cal landscape of the South Sydney region with specific reference to the inherent cultural issues and debates and their po-tential implication to architectural design.
The project considers the making of architecture as a response to a broad range of cultural and po-litical issues, an approach that challenges the per-ception of architecture as autonomous object de-fined only by its formal and stylistic expressions.

NORTH BONDI APARTMENT P1/39-53 CAMPBELL PARADE, SYDNEY
The project is a mixed use building: one that accommodates a range of functions, in this case commercial premises includ-ing a restaurant, with a number of apart-ments above. This is a building type that is increasingly common in developments in Sydney, as the city moves towards an urban vision that encourages higher den-sities and diverse street life through mix-ing commercial and residential functions.

The building design and orientation has been studied in order to offer the most suitable natural light for each appartements. The building openings receive much more sunlight during winter in order to warm up, and re-ceive less sunlight during summer to cool down.

The design aims to reflect maritime archi-tecture. In this way, I created an interplay of pontoons which produced an interesting spatial arrangement. The pontoons are ori-entated by main axes draw accordingt o the site analysis. This spatial organization cre-ates a feeling of in and out, like on a boat.
The transition from industrial use to a public creative use is part of the legacy of the mari-time and broader communities. This transition is a process of urban renewal, or public efforts to revitalize aging and decaying inner cities. The Woolloomooloo Bay Finger Wharf, designed by H D Walsh for the Sydney Harbour Trust and built between 1911 and 1915, is an icon of Austra-lian social history. The proposed project design and program aims to offer a strong connection with its surrounding environment in respect to the maritime culture of woolloomooloo.
Material and construction technique also re-veal the maritime architecture in order to be in harmony with the surrounding environment.

The museum provide a national focus on architecture and architectural matters, and in particular hold exhibitions on architects and their architecture, document and pub-lish monographs on a periodic basis, act as a national repository of significant drawings, images and documents on architects, host seminars and talks and in general promote discussion in the community on architec-ture and its role in the public environment.It can be stated that is also a test of our civilisation. After all, it is through our buildings and their re-mains that civilisation is represented.
The cause is our cause, the culture is our culture, the civilisation our civilisa-tion. There are two great matters: our language and our buildings architec-ture that, together- denote civilisa-tion and act as a record for posterity. Philip Drew
Given the role and contribution of ar-chitecture to the built environment as well as the desirability of exposing the public to excellence in design, such cen-tres provide a focus for promoting and educating the public as a whole about architecture and the contribution ar-chitecture can make to improving the overall quality of human experience.

The site has good views to the estuary towards both the ocean and lagoon. It is clearly visible from the surrounding waterfront areas of North Narrabeen. The design proposal fits with and com-pliments the surrounding environment both natural and built. The development minimise its physical and visual impact on the surrounding area. The design of the linkage from shore line to the proposed structure is carefully considered as an in-tegral part of the overall design.
NARRABEEN ESTUARY FACILITY LAKE PARK RD, LAKESIDE PARK, NARRABEEN NORTH SYDNEY

The project offers a design proposal for a de-velopment that will provide a mixed use fa-cility on the foreshore of the Northern estu-ary of Narrabeen Lagoon. The development will provide two main activities such as a Kayak sales/rental facility and a community hall/club room space.
The building is constructed entirely of timber except for glazing, roof cladding, and neces-sary fixings. All solid and engineered timbers are locally available species. The emphasis is put on maximising the efficient use of the selected timbers and timber products, and minimising the quantity of material used. The selection and development of the struc-tural and construction systems is made with a view to prefabrication.

PARRAMATTA ART CENTRE OLD KING SCHOOL PARK, PARRAMATA, SYDNEY
The council suggested that a multi-purpose arts and cultural facility is to be developed in the Parramatta city centre to increase the profile and significance of the arts, add to the identity, character and culture of the city, contribute to the vitality and maturity of the city centre, and assist in the develop-ment of the creative and cultural industries. The centre will host temporary art and cul-tural exhibitions, reading facilities, and music representations from the Sydney institutions bringing people and cultural events into the City of Parramatta. In addition the centre will encourage commercial interest such as caf, restaurant, offices and accommodation in order to support the economic and so-cial viability of the art centre development.

The continuity/discontinuity between the urban elements is the essential requirement for forming a citys abundant image, which interestingly links all elements together on a morphological, social and historical level with the result that the whole urban fabric reads as a continuum. The project intends to clearly respond to that concept by con-sidering three mains aspect: the landscape (morphological), the monument (historic) and the program (social). The program refers to the combination of activities which pro-duce space and movement. The monument refers to the spectacular quality, the edifying
aspect that is promoted by fine arts culture and through which an edifice imposes an idea such as the program. However, the problem is that an iconic effect of the existing building says nothing about either the building pur-pose or its internal functioning. Thats where the landscape takes place as a solution, by connecting the transformed landscape to the building program. by using the natural land-scape as a bond to interconnect the urban environment, it improves the monumentality appreciation of the existing building and cre-ates a more suitable public building that can host a complex program.

The defragmented historical built form which shape the center, is treated as one continu-ous building by reconsidering the ground floor as one big open plan and replacing the actual discontinuous roofs as a continuous-top floor level and rework on the vertical circulation. This architectural process can be considered as an urbanistic gesture that would adapt the historical build form to its contemporary context, it is a continuous pro-cess of the building evolution. The structure is revitalised through a radical interpretation of its exterior form which has incongruous qualities of being new and old, historical and contemporary, light and also heavy, continu-ous and discontinuous. By lifting the build-ing of the ground, it created a covered public plaza linking two level of urban environment
river and city) which offers strong connection at an urban scale as transitional and static dynamic in term of pedestrian movement. This urban gesture rather than architectural improve the building access which making the building more suitable for public venue and make the building threshold is very clear and understandable by the visitors. In addi-tion, this gesture offer a better connection between the program to the landscape by creating central vertical circulation through the new structure.

REFUGE DE LA GRANDE MONTAGNE SEYNE, ALPES DE HAUTE PROVENCE, FRANCE
Je vois en ce refuge un thtre, qui offre comme spectacle un magistral point de vue sur la valle. Ce somptueux paysage trs contrast, o se mlent espaces im-menses et nature proche, douceur et bru-talit, inspire la volumtrie de la btisse et guide le spectateur. Je vois galement ce refuge comme une btisse uniforme qui effleure le sol fragile et pouse la to-pographie du site. Un repre qui rvle la butte sur laquelle il sadosse.

La salle commune et sa terrasse offrent aux passants une exprience unique du-rant la journe. Mais ce refuge joue aussi son rle dincubateur, en permettant aux visiteurs de passer, en une nuit, du monde des alpages paisibles la rugosit de la falaise impressionnante et abrupte qui le surplombe.
Enfin, je vois ce refuge comme un abri simple, unitaire et compact (inspir des refuges pionniers tout en un ) pour of-frir une exprience atypique au visiteur, pour mieux rpondre aux enjeux environ-nementaux, et pour rester humble face la nature grandiose.

EXTENSION DE MAISON VICTORIENNE 77 WATSON ST BONDI, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
Le projet de rnovation et dextension dune an-cienne maison victorienne Bondi Sydney a t initi par Mr Brendan Smith en 2013. La concep-tion prcdente du btiment manquait de perspec-tives et dclairage naturel. Lespace et la circulation ntaient plus appropris pour les nouveaux occu-pants. Il a fallu de nouvelles chambres, rorganiser cuisine, salon, buanderie et salle de bains. Puis crer un amnagement paysager pour le jardin, larrire de la demeure, comprenant une structure de stock-age pour lquipement de jardinerie et autres. Nous voulions mettre en avant le contraste entre le style Victorien ornement, et une forme contemporaine mlangeant une large palette de matires premires. Mr Brendan Smith tant galement le propritaire, cela nous a permis de porter une attention particu-lire aux dtails et finitions, ainsi qu au choix des matriaux, permettant une ralisation plus raffine et bien excute. Ce projet est un bel exemple de travail de rhabilitation qui mlange diffrents styles darchitecture.
Connaissant bien Mr Smith, il ma offert lopportunit de travailler en collaboration avec son architecte et lui mme aprs avoir obtenu mon diplme dtat aus-tralien. Ainsi, jai particip llaboration des dessins ncessaires au permis de construire laide du pro-gramme CAO Autocad, puis jai t trs impliqu au cours de la phase de construction du projet en tant quassistant contremaitre. Jai donc travaill en rela-tion avec diffrents corps de mtiers sur le chantier tel que la charpenterie, la plomberie, llectricit , ce qui ma donn loccasion dapprofondir mes con-naissances sur les diffrentes techniques de con-struction.

JELENGA LODGESCAR REEF, JELENGA BEACH, SUMBAWA, INDONESIA
Le projet a dbut en Septembre 2013 au sein de lagence Tropical Pavillon Touchwood Bali, lobjectif tait de crer un complexe htelier cologique de luxe proximit dune plage isole en Indonsie sur lile de Sumbawa. Le complexe a t spcialement conu pour les amateurs de yoga et de surf grce lenvironnement naturel agrable et les vagues qui entourent la zone. La con-ception propose est inspire par la forme dune fleur. Elle permet une intgration har-monieuse dans lenvironnement et la cra-tion de btiments ouverts sur lextrieur, sadaptant au climat indonsien. Le pro-gramme propose trois types de btiments afin de convenir trois types de groupes de personnes. Le projet est ralis en bois et en bambou indonsien prfabriqu de haute qualit. De plus laccent architec-tural a t mis sur lcologie, la ventilation naturelle et limplantation sur pilotis des btiments permettant de rduire limpact sur lenvironnement. Je travaillais comme architecte indpendant pour la socit. Jai eu lopportunit de contribuer la concep-tion de lavant-projet en proposant un con-cept de btiments modulables, qui a ainsi permis le dveloppement dun master plan trs flexible.

Jai particip ce projet en tant quarchitecte assistant pour Les tudes davant-projet, le dossier de demande de permis de constru-ire, la conception dtaille du btiment, et les plans dexcutions. Jai contribu la planification du master plan et la concep-tion dtaille du projet, jai ensuite t par-ticulirement impliqu dans la ralisation de linternat et le travail de faade bambou (the boarding school).

Le projet propose de combiner quatre coles types, pour les enfants gs de 2 6 ans, les lves gs de 7 12 ans, les tudiants gs de 13 18 ans et linternat qui pourra accueillir les tudiants de 7 18 ans. En outre, le projet comprend un gymnase, une piscine olympique, des terrains de sport, une cole dart et un centre dereprsentation. Lentre principale du collge est la place principale qui est le coeur de lcole. Elle accueille des enfants tous les matins, et donne un lieu de loisirs chaque pause, un ac-cueil pour les visiteurs pour des vnements spciaux. Lcole et la place refltent la philoso-phie hautement polyvalente du projet. De la place, la rue principale permet aux tudiants et visiteurs daccder au reste de lcole. La rue est couverte en partie pour protger des rayons du soleil et de la pluie. La circulation est concentre sur les cts de la rue, avec des arbres et des zones couvertes
