Monday 31st August, 2020. Term 3 Week 7. Principal’s Message, Dear Parents, Carers and Community members, Last week the Long Jump pit and the sand pit were topped up with sand. Thank you to Mr Court for delivering the sand and thank you to Mr Fisher for trimming the trees to allow the tip truck to do its job. Their assistance was greatly appreciated. During last Friday Sport the students competed in their Long Jump aged divisions and were excited using the newly topped up sand. Congratulations to everyone for giving their best and using good sportsmanship. Congratulations to all the place getters for achieving a ribbon. High jump is next on the Athletics agenda. The school would like to welcome two new students and their family to Attunga Public School. Cameron is in Year 3 and Morgan is in Year 4. Last week was SASS Recognition Week where we acknowledged all the oce and support staff for their dedication to their work. We hosted a special morning tea to celebrate each member of the team. This week our staff will participate in annual CPR and anaphylaxis training through Zoom to keep staff up to date with emergency procedures. Over the next couple of weeks our teachers will be holding Learner Led Conferences for each student. This is a great opportunity to talk with your child’s teacher about the student progress and setting goals for specic learning. These meetings will be delivered through a zoom meeting, phone call or if essential, face to face. You will receive a note home with Our gorgeous cleaner Debbie Fisher is retiring. We dont know what we will do without her but we wish her much happiness in her retirement.

Mrs Deb Fisher will be fare-welling our school as she has decided to take the next steps inher life and enjoying retiring. She will be sadly missed by all. Mrs Fisher has dedicated a largepart of her life to Attunga Public School either as a primary student, a parent or as the schoolcleaner for over 20 years. Her service at Attunga Public School has been outstanding,impressing not just the school and community but her employer as well. Deb always deliversabove and beyond to make Attunga Public School a lovely place to learn. We will miss hergreatly and wish her all the best in her retirement. Friday the 11th September at 2:30 we willbe the ringing of the bell for Mrs Fisher and the students will make the guide of honour forher. We ask those wanting to be part of the celebration to continue the honour line outsidethe school gates along the pathway. Please remember to social distance.

This week Year 5 will complete the Check-in assessments in literacy and numeracy.

Over the rest of Term 3 we will be transitioning from Winter to Summer uniform, as it isbecoming warmer.

Happy Father’s Day to all our dads on Sunday. We hope you have a wonderful day celebratingfatherhood with your family.

This weeks awards were plentiful. Cameron received a Maroon Award.

Jack, Cayne, Ebonie, Leilah, Nate, Mackenzie, Matilda and Lillie received happy snaps for all oftheir hard work this week.

Recipients of the sports ribbons were as follows for each photo below.

Minors 1st Matilda/ Zaiden, 2nd Taylah/Riley, 3rd Kate/ Caden and Mackenzie with a well doneribbon.

Juniors 1st Lillith/Logan, 2nd Vailah/Cameron, 3rd Leilah/Rawri.

Jess and Vailah got drawn for little bells.

Seniors 1st Ebonie/Jack, 2nd Lara/Cayne, 3rd Josh and well done ribbon for Coen.

Thank you to Craig Court who went above and beyond to get us sand for thelong jump pit and sandpit before Friday last week.
