Who is God? What do we believe about God? Baptists believe there is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being. Baptists believe God always has been; He always will be. What are truths about God that will never change? I. You can know that His ______________ will never change. “I have loved you with an everlasting love.” Jer. 31:3 “... nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God.” Romans 8:38 II. You can know that His ______________ will never change. “The grass withers and flowers fade, but the Word of our God shall stand forever.” Isaiah 40:8 * There is the temptation. “Did God really say...” Gen. 3:1 “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24 III. NEWS & CELEBRATIONSPRAY FOR SUMMER OUTREACH & MISSIONSThis week, we have a group of college students in Ecuador on a mission trip. Pray for this team as it serves children at an orphanage. Saturday, a group of Sr. High students will also leave for Ecuador to continue this work for another week.

BACK TO SCHOOL DONATIONSThe 15th Annual Back to School Picnic will be on August 5, 2017 and the Community Action Committee has requested that First Benton contribute 600 composition books (wide ruled - 9.75 in x 7.5 in) as we strive to pack around 1,000 backpacks for local children. Next time you go to the store, toss some composition notebooks in your cart and drop them off in one of the collection bins at the church. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Over 400 children attended ZAPPED Benton Community VBS last week and were served by 220 volunteers who helped make this a special week for kids including those of the Boys & Girls Club and kids who live near Tyndall Park & Ralphe Bunche Park.
