Annual Ice Cream Festival to be held on Friday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the APR. There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. We are asking people to donate the Ice Cream and toppings this

year so the church does not have to cover any of the costs, due to the ongoing septic problem. Feel free to invite friends and neighbors for a night of fellowship.

There will be an informational meeting in the all-purpose room today, Sunday, August 20 at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will be for anyone that is a current leader, wants to be a leader or a lay

leader within our church. Kathy Heaps and Marty Wagner will be here to answer questions about the lay leader program and Equipping God’s People program. If you have any questions please see Bill Lowe.

Financial Peace University - is coming to our church on September 12, at 7:00 p.m. This course is 9 weeks long and is open to all couples and singles

who would like to learn the Biblical way to handle finances. There is a fee for this course. More information to follow. Any questions, please see Beth Coby.

E-Giving is coming to Winterstown UMC in September

Winterstown United Methodist Church is pleased to announce the introduction of an electronic option for making regular offerings. Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account. Our new electronic giving program will offer convenience for you and provide much-needed donation consistency for our congregation. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. And, when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your weekly offerings to continue on an uninterrupted basis. Watch your Sunday bulletin and September newsletter for more information about the E-Giving program and how you can participate in it.

Our faithful members Terry & Valerie Mee will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary on August 26. Let's remember them with a card shower.

Reminder that the grief share group has a dinner date at Lion’s Pride on August 31 at 6:00 p.m.

We will observe our annual Hawaiian Sunday during both services on August 27. Once again the Sanctuary will be decorated and you are encouraged to wear your favorite Hawaiian Attire.

The Cub Scouts will be having their traditional "Meet-N-Greet" recruitment night on Monday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. If you know someone who might be interested in joining Cub Scouts

this year (Kindergarten through 5th grade), please invite them to come on down and learn more about our Cub Scouting program here at Winterstown UMC. Bob's Critters will be on hand that evening, entertaining and fascinating the cubs with all manner of live reptile creatures. While the kids are being entertained, parents will have the opportunity to learn about the program and how they can join Cub Scout Pack 3 right here at our church. Scout leaders and administrators from our church will be available to answer parents questions and help parents understand what scouting is all about. If you're in need of instilling moral values in your son or grandson, and want them to become a respected leader within their community as they grow up, then Scouting can be the right program for you! Come on down on August 28 and start investing time in your son or grandson's future.
