One of the key areas of our Long Range Plan, called Forward 2016, was a renovation of our Wednesday night schedule and pro- gramming. From what we have seen, our new schedule is off to a great start! Starting our meal later has resulted in the Fellowship Hall being full for our Wednesday evening meal, including University Students as well as families with children. All our children, youth and university groups have seen more faces and new faces since we changed. Our Adult small groups began this past Wednesday with multiple opportunities for discipleship. One of the new features we are offering on Wednesday night will be “The Atri- um Café”. The Atrium Café will be a café located in the Atrium open from 5:45 to 7 each Wednesday night begin- ning Oct. 2. This will be available for adults who need time to catch up on their day, visit with friends or wait for their children to get out of GLOW. We will offer First Baptist Signature Cook- ies, fresh popped popcorn, gourmet blend coffee (we will have hot choco- late later), bottled water, music and Wi- Fi. Our goal is to help adults build rela- tionships and a sense of belonging to our church family. A small group of volunteers is working to launch this new opportunity. At least two volun- teers will be needed each week to help operate the café, so when you are asked to help; sign up. One way this will help our church fulfill its mission is by offering a place for connecting with people you know or want to know. We have many people whose children come to GLOW or youth activities but are not a part of our church or have no church background. The Atrium Café offers a comfortable place to get to know someone who may not attend a worship service or Sunday School. People love to gather, that’s why the fast food restaurants are used for coffee drinkers. A church like ours needs to offer as many entry or connect- ing points as possible and the Atrium Café will be one of those! See you Sunday, Bruce From the Heart

for State Missions Theme: Undaunted!

Undaunted! The need to be undaunted in reaching Arkansas with the good

news of Christ has never been more urgent. The Dixie Jackson Offering and

Prayer Focus for State Missions gives us a direct avenue to impact our state.

FBC Goal is $7,000

Week of Prayer; Sept. 15-22, 2013 The Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering goal is $1.45 million.

One of the key areas of our

Long Range Plan, called

Forward 2016, was a renovation of our

Wednesday night schedule and pro-

gramming. From what we have seen,

our new schedule is off to a great start!

Starting our meal later has resulted in

the Fellowship Hall being full for our

Wednesday evening meal, including

with children. All our children, youth

and university groups have seen more

faces and new faces since we changed.

Our Adult small groups began this past

Wednesday with multiple opportunities

for discipleship.

One of the new features we are offering

on Wednesday night will be “The Atri-

um Café”. The Atrium Café will be a

café located in the Atrium open from

5:45 to 7 each Wednesday night begin-

ning Oct. 2. This will be available for

adults who need time to catch up on

I, Saul,

by Jerry B. Jenkins

Told from the point of view of the

disciple Luke, the apostle Paul and Au-

gie, a modern day scholar; I, Saul is a

fast-paced story of intrigue and mys-

tery. Readers will be reminded of

Indiana Jones and the DaVinci Code as

they become absorbed in this page-

turner by a master storytell-

er. Along the way, they will learn

of the fictionalized but plausible sto-

ry of the life of Saul who relentless-

ly persecuted Christ's followers prior to

his conversion

when he became known as Paul.
