The book of Genesis looks at the tension between the best and the worst and offers hope that the best is yet to come.

This Summers Sizzling Sermon Series will be based on the book of Genesis.

Quilters Needed

Did you know GSLC sent dozens of quilts to the needy survivors of Hurricane Michael?

And dozens more to LWML and the Orphan Train?

The need continues but the workers are few. Did you just say, “I don’t quilt?” But… can you iron a sheet; cut squares of fabric; tie knots with pieces of yarn?

We need you to volunteer Wednesday morning to do those things.

Come between 9:30 – 10:00 and give us some precious time and help! Feel free to bring a lunch if you choose to stay until noon,

so you can get to know our “Quilting Bees” and our “Knotty Ladies.”

Are we there yet? This all too familiar question is usually asked with impatience and/or anticipation as we travel toward a destination. For LWMLers heading to the 38th Biennial LWML Convention this month, “there” will be Mobile, Alabama.

For the hosts in the Florida-Georgia, Gulf States, and Louisiana-Mississippi districts, it will be a long-awaited and much planned for occurrence; a huge effort has gone into the organizing and orchestrating of individual events that make up such a large gathering. Many thanks to those from the host districts who have volunteered to help in Mobile to make it all happen. For those who cannot attend, please pray for safe travel and for the successful carrying out of the plans of the convention committees. Please pray for the convention goers as they attend “In Praise to the LORD!” Pray that they leave the convention keeping in mind and bringing back home the message from 1 Chronicles 16:23-24a, Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations. To that end, may we all travel together as LWML sisters in service to our Lord!
