• Cap ball is a new baseball game that is played in the Dominican Republic. The game is played on a miniature baseball field. The field has a first base, second base & a home plate. Bats are replaced with broom sticks and the balls are replaced with caps from 5 gallon water jugs. The count is 3 strikes and 6 balls. All the other rules are the same.

What I did to help… I went to the Dominican Republic. Our group ran a basketball camp. What I got to see while I was there at the basketball camp was so amazing. Just seeing them in their place and where they go everyday to hang out. They are so excited when our cars show up at the basketball courts because they know its people that came to help them and show them how to really play basketball. There were friends and parent there watching and supporting their kids during the games. They were so interested in the advise we told them. Unlike the way we are - we don’t like help when someone wants to give it to us like when I went to show a kid how to get a better shot they listen to us. But when someone wants to help us we don’t listen.

On the streets we got to hang out with the neighborhood people and make friends with some of them. We played cap ball with them and talked to them
