The Suzaku Seven

Tamahome

The first Seal to be found, Tamahome is one of the most important characters. At first he seems selfish and greedy on the outside, but Tama's financial efforts actually lead to a good cause.

His good heart and vow of protection to Miaka causes her feelings for him to bloom into a loyal and undying love.

The Suzaku SevenHotohori is the Emperor

of the Konan Empire. He is also one of the Suzaku warriors. His greatest skill is swordsmanship. He has been awaiting Miaka to come from her world into the book since he was a young child, and he believed the Priestess of Suzaku would be the perfect woman. Hotohori eventually falls in love with and will do anything to protect Miaka from harm.

He eventually marries someone else and has two sons. He dies at the hands of Nakago, but is reborn again Hotohori

Nuriko

At age twelve, Nuriko witnessed his little nine-year-old sister, Kourin, being trampled and hit by a near carriage. As time grew on he couldn't grasp his little sister being dead so he changed his appearance to look like what his sister would have. He wanted to live out his sister's life so she wouldn't really be dead. Nuriko is a fun loving type of person who can cheer anyone up. He fell in love with Hotohori and tried to win his love each time but failed. Once he noticed his love taking a liking into Miaka he became furious and went against her. After a while, he became friends with her. In search of the Shinzaho, he died while making a noble sacrifice for Suzaku in a battle to the death

The Suzaku SevenChichiri is one of the

Suzaku Warriors who also is a mysterious monk. Chichiri has a scar across his left eye. When Chichiri was about 19 years old, he saw his friend kissing his fiancee, Kouran. They both fought until Houjun fell in the stream, injuring Chichiri’s eye in the process He often wears a smiling mask to conceal that scar. He possesses the most amount of magic and uses them when needed.

Tasuki

Tasuki's mark of the seven Stars of Suzaku is on his right arm He is quick to fight, but shy underneath and easily moved to tears. Due to his family life, at age 15, Tasuki left home and became the leader of bandits. This is where we encounter Tasuki for the first time. He kidnaps Miaka and uses her as a bargaining chip only to end up helping her. He is very protective of his priestess and treats her like a kid sister. Tasuke Provides comic relief and carries a fan to shoot flames at anyone who gets in his way.

Mitsukuke is the 6th Suzaku member found. When first introduced, Mitsukake cared for nothing because he had giving up on everything. Including his special powers from the Seal. The love of his life, Shoka, died of an illness when he was away, treating other patients. In the end, Mitsukake died by sacrificing his life to heal those who were dieing from the war.

Chiriko

Chiriko is the seventh Suzaku Seal to appear. He saves Miaka and the other Suzaku Seals from Amiboshi's trap. He is very small, but makes up for his lack of size with great intelligence and kind heart.

He is quiet and thoughtful with many talents, including playing a leaf whistle. Although he considers himself to be worthless, Chiriko proves his bravery when he kills himself to defeat Seiryu Seal Miboshi.
