Problems?Problems?
This is what the “M” stands for in MAIN-
Germany proved their execution of this idea when they sent the Panther to challenge French holdings in
Africa.
Nationalism took hold in this
peninsula made up of Slavic peoples but controlled by foreign Empires, such as Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire.
The dismissal of this German chancellor, who was behind several of the alliances, changed the climate of European politics
The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand by the Black Hands might’ve had something to do with Austria-Hungary preventing this country from annexing Albania and Macedonia. With the Austrian Ultimatum rejected, war became a reality.
This was Germany’s
original “game plan”, which was
put in place to quickly defeat
France and avoid a two-front war.
This allied country was suffering countless defeats on the Eastern front, ceding land
to Germany. Too bad the Germans couldn’t keep the
land after the war.
It was at this battle that the Allied forces used taxis to halt the
German advance after they crossed through neutral Belgium and into
France.
Though this campaign was an utter failure, it
influenced Allied tactics in WWII and
increased the sense of nationalism among
Australians and New Zealanders.
While this new German weapon did not prove to be a huge determinant in the course of the war, it certainly threatened neutral U.S. merchant ships on the Atlantic.
Despite campaigning on the slogan “He Kept Us
Out of War” in 1916, Wilson convinced
Congress to declare war in 1917 after the discovery of this
telegram that revealed a Mexican- German
alliance
This American led the AEF, or the American Expeditionary Force, in Europe. His nickname sounds like a card game.
Germany faltered in the Summer and Fall of 1918 largely due to the U.S. entrance into war and the government’s failure to do this effectively, which led to inflation.
Germany was forced to sign the guilt
clause, accepting the blame for the war, and accept
these three other consequences of the Treaty of Versailles.
This was Wilson’s 7th point in his Fourteen Point plan of “peace with honor”; it would
give European countries a forum to discuss foreign affairs. The United States never
agreed to join it.
•This committee was created with the intention to influence public opinion in the direction of supporting the war. It used propaganda and books.
This man was jailed for comparing the
draft to indentured servitude. His trial
raised the question of the right of
government to restrict individual liberties in
times of crisis.
