action after finding reason to believe Citibank violated the Act. in MUR 2589, Citibank's PACfiled a gh amni submission informing the Commission that Citibank had paid the PAC'sfederal income taxes between 1981 and 1986, totaling $4,089. In MUR 3124, generated by areferral from the Audit Division, Citibank made a $2.500 contribution to the Atlanta '88Committee, the organization formed to manage the 1988 convention. Citibank claimed that itsinternal compliance review process was not triggered because the solicitation letter it hadreceived emphasized the organization's non-partisan. §501(cX3) tax-exempt status.
