April 2011 Thank you to all who attended Parent/Teacher Conferences. If you were unable to make it, please call the school and make an appointment to meet with your child’s teacher. The time is rapidly approaching—TEST TIME!!! Please reinforce the Seton Falls Bronx, NY April 2011 Volume 4, Issue 8 strategies your child is learning in school! Did you know April is Poetry Month? Tell your child your favorite poem or poet! Themes of the Month Literacy The third grade students will begin reading and writing poems for Poetry Month. Science We will finish our unit on Energy and beginning our unit on Force and Motion. Math The third grade will focus on fractions as well as prepare for our state math exam in May. Keep studying those times tables! Announcements ~April 6 th & 8 th - ELA Simulation ~April 18 th -26 th - Spring Recess ~April 22 nd - Earth Day ~April 26 th & 27 th - NYS ELA Exam ~April 28 th - Field Trip to the Empire State Building Sky Ride **NYS ELA Exam May 3 rd , 4 th , & 5 th **NYS Math Exam May 10 th & 11 th !! State testing is coming up!!!
