• My name is Glory J. Soto Gonzalez

• Second semester student of the Master’s of Arts in English Education program at University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus (UPRM).

Educational Philosophy• I believe in going back in time, remembering

myself as a learner and reflecting upon my own education.

• An educator should be capable of dealing with any kind of student, having in mind that one of them are UNIQUE, DIFFERENT, and SPECIAL.

• An educator should be up to date with the recent approaches and methods of instruction to maintain an active learning.

Educational Philosophy• Students need to expand their vision of

education and instruction, they need to comprehend the importance of being an educated person.

• Education should be seen as a blessing and gift, not as an obligation.

• Students should be educated in a safe and respectful environment.

Expectations• Based on their previous knowledge of

Elements of Fiction, students will write an alternative ending after analyzing each one of these elements.

• Students must apply an appropriate writing style to produce the alternative ending.

• The alternative ending should fit into context with the Short Story or Fairy Tale read in class.

• Students will make a drawing that convey the meaning of the alternative ending.

Expectations• Through drawings, students will express their

personal opinion about the text.• Students will use the appropriate language

structure to explain their alternative ending.• Students will explain the main idea of their

alternative ending and reveal important details such as the Elements of Fiction used to develop this ending.

• White paper• Crayons• Tape• Short Story or Fairy Tale

Steps to follow

• Students will read a Short Story or a Fairy Tale provided by the teacher.

• Students will identify the Elements of Fiction in the text.

• Based on the Elements of Fiction, students will write an alternative ending for the text.

• Students must be encourage to feel free and creative when using their imagination.

Steps to follow

• Students will make a drawing about the alternative ending that will speak for itself.

• Peers will analyze the drawing and they will need to figure out what the ending consist of.

• At the end, the drawings will be hung up on the wall and students will explain with supporting details (drawing) what their ending is about.
