heart of thankfulness1 Thessalonians 1

• Constantly thinking of and praying for the Church (1 Thessalonians 1:2)

• It is so important to make people feel valued. More importantly, we need to actually value them.

behavior and actions back up words1 Thessalonians 1:4-10

• Common Misconception• "Preach the Gospel... and if necessary, use words"• This is not the command that Jesus gave us, but only part of it

Matthew 28:19-20 - Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them int the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

behavior and actions back up words1 Thessalonians 1:4-10

• Paul said that the Gospel did not come merely in words, but that he backed up the message with his character

• We must set an example of Christ worth following (Titus 2:7,12, John 15:13, Psalm 71:7, Ephesians 4:24)

• Not Easy or necessarily immediately attractive, but one that lines up with Grace and The Gospel.

• Not Perfection or in a Pretense of having it “figured out” (Philippians 3:1-14)
