Creating Transparency for Civic Engagement
Citizens are victims to the opaque bureaucratic artifacts, such as the use of archaic forms of communication and our disappearing public forum, as a result caused apathy and a weaker democracy. Communication Design, can serve as a neutral filter between the conflicting interests and the public through its ability to create clarity and accessibility from large amounts of data. As a result this will lead towards a greater civic engagement.
“Bureaucracy is the death of all sound work”
—Albert Einstein
Administration characterized by excessive “red tape”
and routine.
A form of government in which the true power lies
in the hands of committees who dictate policy and
bureaus that carry them out, with little accountability
to the constituency.
