    SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of the study aims to know the relaxation techniques ofsecond year nursing students of Far Eastern University and perception of theClinical Instructors, the administration and the future researchers.

To the students, this study will help them determine the strategies which may helpthem reduce stress and disrupt them in related learning experience.

For Clinical Instructor, result of this survey/study could help them in planningactivities which would help students exercise control/techniques over stressfulsituations related to their academic performances.

For administration, this study will serve as basis to encourage them to make aprogram that will teach the nursing students to manage their time.

For future researchers, this study will serve as a reference and baseline informationto develop on that enhance the nursing students relaxation techniques correlating totheir academic performances

    METHODOLOGYResearch Design

The researchers used the descriptive method of the study. Descriptive method is one way of

discovering needed facts and interpreting the results. The concern of the study is to know if relaxationpractices could enhance the academic performance of Far Eastern University second year nursing students.

    Research Locals

The respondents of the study are focused on the second year nursing students of Far EasternUniversity. The researchers study deals on the opinion and views of the respondents with regards to theeffects of relaxation of nursing students to their academic performance.

Samples and Sampling TechniquesThe second year nursing students are the only people who are qualified to answer the assigned survey form.

    Instrumentation

The survey questionnaire is the main tool used in the study. After the questionnaire was prepared, itwas distributed to the chosen respondents. This is very important because the respondents answers will bevital to the results that will help complete the study.

ProcedureThe distribution of the survey forms are done personally by the assigned researchers to their

designated classroom assignment. The researchers distributed the forms to the respondents and waited forthem outside of the classroom. This was done to make sure all forms are submitted and answered properly.

Scratch the surface and you'll find that good academic performance is also linked to having good

organizational skills such as a tidy place to work and good time management. Scratch more deeply and

you'll find that excellent academic performance depends on having the right mind-setfor learning.

When you relax, your mind becomes more absorbent and able to learn. This hypnosis session will teach your brain to be relaxed just when it needs to be, to maximize it's ability to

absorb information, understand and communicate it. It will also give your mind a welcome break, allowing

you to process what you have been studying as well as increase your academic confidence.

Implication:The more students think about how much time they dont have, the more they can feel paralyzed

and get even less accomplished. While it would be great to be granted an extra hour in our day,

the reality is that if we are not focusing on managing our time well, the extra hour would not make

a difference in our stress level. Most graduate students find that they dont have enough time to

do anything else but focus on their academic responsibilities. As a result, graduate students canlose sight of their other life priorities (e.g. family, friends, religion, physical health, and hobbies)

and find their lives very unsatisfactory. The start of the school year is a good time to take inventory

of your priorities and set realistic goals for what you would like to accomplish.

The research may also point out thepossible causes of the students in terms of

academic performances. Considering that all theliving organ isms experience the stress, the aim ofnursing is not removing the whole stresscompletely, because stress is part of the life.

Response to stress can be in an unhealthy way,and the role of the nurse at this time is helping topromote the health. Health promotion includesstrategies for reduction and management of the

stress, the nurse also can use nursing process inorder to manage the stress.

researchers to complete the study. The study will benefit thestudents, their clinical instructor, the administration and for the

future researchers. The study may serve the students to reduce

stress often include effective time management, social support,

positive reappraisal and engagement in leisure pursuits.

Other effective strategies include giving oneself

    positive affirmations, halting negative thoughts,

visualizing success and, with eyes closed, taking a few minutes to

envision being in a restful place. Adequate hydration and brief

shoulder massages can also work wonders in achieving

    Conclusion

Based on the data gathered, the researchers concluded

that relaxation plays a big role to the enhancement of academicperformance of Far Eastern University second year nursing students. The relaxation response is a state of deep rest that is just theopposite of the stress response. The relaxation response brings thebody back into a natural balance. There is no set relaxationtechnique that is best. Research indicates this calming response can

help alleviate the aches and pains caused by working long hours onhard floors. Practice makes perfect when it comes to techniques forrelaxation so give a technique a chance to work before dropping itand moving to another. The body's natural relaxation response is apowerful antidote to stress. Using relaxation techniques can helpyou access this response. These relaxation techniques lead to a

reduction in everyday stress levels and a boost in your feelings wellbeing. They also serve as a protective agent by eliciting calmresponses to life's unexpected developments, thereby making everyday, both at home and at work, a little easier to cope with.

    Recommendation

The study can fairly enumerate the relaxation practices of FarEastern University second year nursing students and their co-relation toacademic practices. However, there are still more information needed tocomply with the complete success of the study. Each student has his or herown personality and identity. There are still students who pursue sleepingas an effective relaxation technique based on academic performance. For

establishing further research, it is recommendable to investigate specificallyon the relaxation practices of Far Eastern University second year nursingstudents and their co-relation to academic performance. To reduce stress bystudents often include effective time management, social support, positivereappraisal and engagement in leisure pursuits. The only scientific researchthat specifically related leisure satisfaction to academic stress, whoestablished a negative association between academic stress and leisure

satisfaction. The researchers, considering that they too may be students, may keep their adeptness and put their personal beliefs and feelings aside toconstruct an equitable and consistent study.
