Research objective •To explore relations between land use change in an urban area and its hinterland and its implication on emissions related to climate change. •To assess the potential of the existing urban green cover as a resource for natural mitigation of the effect of urban GHG. •To particularly relate the industrial land use and growth rate with the existing and required urban green as equivalent carbon sink, and induce land use planning accordingly.
