THE RIGHT MATERIAL MIXSPELLS A DECISIVE ADVANTAGEThe lampholders presented in this chapter are designed for high-pressuredischarge lamps, for which high ignition voltages and high startingcurrents are characteristic. High temperatures can also occur with higherlamp outputs.

Vossloh-Schwabe therefore attaches great importance to ensuringcasings, contacts and cables are made of high-grade materials.

Owing to the high ignition voltages, these lampholders are alsogoverned by stricter requirements regarding creepage and airclearance distances.

When operating high-pressure discharge lamps with E27 and E40 Edisonbases, care must be taken to ensure that the respective lampholders areapproved for use with discharge lamps. Lampholders that are suitable inthis respect are marked with "5 kV".
