Note:

The number of blankets per item is estimated. The MLI supplier is responsible to review and reassess the number of blankets necessary per item.

(1) Dimensions represent a rectangle that envelops the item area, and is estimated and will be subject to changes. The blanket area does not take into account the overlapping and borders

5.6 Flight Model Heaters

These heaters will be of the etched-foil type, encapsulated in Kapton. Most heaters have multiple elements, with the actual element that is used selected after spacecraft installation of the mat. This is to allow the heater dissipation to be tuned to the unit requirement post thermal test. The resistance provided below are the nominal, with the tuning provided by additional elements whose resistance is above and below the nominal. The redundancy is provided by a second separate heater mat. All heater elements shall not induce a magnetic field when operating. (non-induction type)

A total of 1.02m2 (TBC) of conductive filler gasket is necessary for the units that require a high conductive coupling to the structure. In addition a total of 24 thermally isolating washers are required for the antennas that shall be conductively isolated from the spacecraft.
