DESCRIPTION OF THE PTR TECHNOLOGY
PTR 1000 kW6 is a separate technological complex, technically adapted to heating-up and cooling the
fuel cell within all three phases of the processing mixture in the fuel cell ( heating-up – phase of
releasing hydrocarbon vapor – phase of cooling the fuel cell ).
PTR 1000 kW6 consists of 6 PTR modules.
The maximum capacity of PTR 1000 kW6 is designed for 7.680 tons of input material per year ( 24 ton/day)
followed by direct energy utilization of the produced gaseous and liquid fuel.
The operation of processing and energy utilization of the modified input material assumes operating
mode 6 + 1 ( 6 working days and one day off ), respectively 320 working days.

PTR units also process at the same facility. :
• heavy oil, oil with higher density
• oil from refinery plants
• oil lagoons, etc.
Individual waste must be assessed and tested at producer‘s facility.
We offer an individual approach to our customers. From heavy oil (but also from another oil) or from old tires, PTR produces fuel that meets the EURO 5 fuel standard and is usable as fuel in trucks.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PTR TECHNOLOGY
PTR 1000 kW6 as complex solution consists of one separate technology (1) PTR 1000 kW6,
consisting of 6 PTR modules and accessories and it is designed for a daily capacity of max. 24 tons of
processing crushed input material – chips ( rubber waste/plastic waste ). Each individual PTR module consists
of three zones: preheating zone, the zone of active process and the zone of passive process and of
interconnected heat transfer system for ensuring the transfer and circulation of the secondary heat.

In the preheating zone, the fuel cell is heated-up
with the input material up to max. temperature of
120°C.
In the zone of active process, there is a slow
thermal reaction ( PTR ) which lasts from 120 to
180 minutes at a temperature up to 500°C.
In the zone of passive process, there is cooling of
the fuel cell and at the same time transferring heat
into the heat transfer system PTR.

In total the PTR 1000 kW6 consists of 6 modules.
These modules are in pairs connected by a crane manipulator which ensures the movement of the fuel
cells between individual zones in PTR module.
The crane manipulator provides a transfer of a fuel cell from the supporting structure ATS - dock I/6 ( 1 ) to
the zone of Pre-treatment ( 2 ), further into the zone of Active Process ( 3 ) and after the process it moves
the cell into the zone of Passive Process - Cooling ( 4 ). After cooling the cell is removed from the PTR
system and moved to zone dock II/6 to the supporting structure ATS for transporting the fuel cell ( 5 ), and
then transported for discharging.

PTR module is in all zones connected to the
collecting gas line leading to the cooling
system – a cooler, where condensation of
gaseous hydrocarbons into a liquid fraction is
in progress. This liquid fraction is collected in
separate containers for liquid fraction and a
light uncondensed portion of the gaseous
hydrocarbons is led into containers for gaseous
fraction, where stabilization of the gaseous
fuel takes place.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PTR TECHNOLOGY
Fuel cells – are gas-tight systems of cylindrical
shape, consisting of a lid and a container made
of stainless steel class 17, fitted with a system
of sensors, including a combined magnetic and
pneumatic locking system. Inside the cells there is
heating-up, decomposition and then cooling the
input material in the subsequent slow thermal
reaction in the temperature range from 20 °C to
500 °C. The volume of the fuel cell is 1.2 m3. The
total number of fuel cells for one PTR module, in
order to ensure the continuous mode, is eighteen (
18+6 ) pieces.

PTR kW6 1000 consists of:
• 6 units - PTR modules that are in the container design, in dimensions
( L x W x H ) 6,000 x 2,400 x 2,400 mm, with a total of 18 chambers (
6 active process zones )
• PTR cooling system, cooling medium - water, V = 30 m3, container
design, in dimensions ( L x W x H ) 2,400 x 2,800 x 6,000 mm,
• 18 + 6 pcs of fuel cells, V = 1.2 m3,
• 3 crane manipulators with a load capacity of 3,000kg,
• Manipulation area of PTR 1000 kW6 module – for 6 PTR units without
peripherals is 35 m x 30 m of paved area and height of 8.0 meters,
depending on the space available at the investor.

Liquid fraction* - PTR OIL serves as commercial fuel for energy
utilization, as fuel for a dual cogeneration unit or a generator,
( heating value app. 29-33 MJ/kg ).

Oil management is designed as a separate system for storage of oil fractions, respectively certified
fuel HEDOIL.
The system of collecting PTR oil is operationally connected to the PTR cooler, where are condensed
the gaseous hydrocarbons produced by the slow process of thermal decomposition of the input raw
material. After condensation and separation of the liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons, the particular
fractions are collected separately in containers of liquid fractions and gas reservoirs.
The liquid fraction – PTR OIL/ HEDOIL the oil is collected into a set of double-wall containers with a
capacity of 6 x 1 m3, with a separate collection system for oil produced by PTR, including oil-level
check. Filled containers are transported into the area of the fuel base of the cogeneration unit and
are connected to its fuel system, as part of a dual fuel route of the CHP.
The reservoirs ( tanks ) for the PTR oil are placed under the cooler in the supporting frame -
container design - dimensions ( L x W x H ) 6,058 x 2,438 x 2,000 mm.

Solid fraction – PTR carbon - serves as commercial solid fuel,
char coal it can also be briquetted or this carbonaceous material
can be used as a stabilizer of low-calorific fuels,
( heating value app. 30 MJ/kg )
