PSA (Public Service Announcements)We run these at lunch also like the
announcements.
Lets play a game called FACT or FICTION.
Read the statement and decide if it is FACT or FICTION.
Ready?
Here we go…..
Fact or Fiction?Marijuana is medicine
FictionMarijuana is NOT approved as medicine.
Have you ever heard of anyone who would ‘smoke’ medicine? Someone who smokes marijuana has the same respiratory problems that cigarette smokers have.
There are people that say marijuana is ok if
used for pain…they are called drug dealers!
Fact or Fiction?EVERYONE smokes pot.
FictionThe majority of teenagers do not do drugs, and disapprove of friends that drink, smoke or do other types of drugs.
Fact or fiction?Weed is usually the first drug people use.
FactMarijuana is called a launching off drug. Users start with marijuana but then go on to using harder and more addictive drugs because they think it is safe.
Fact or fiction?Smoke weed once and you are addicted.
FactNo one can predict how you will react to marijuana the first time. Then it may be too late.
Some drugs are extremely addictive, and with the first time, the user is addicted.
Don’t let this be YOU! Know the facts about drug abuse.
Information is available online, through the school or a trusted adult.

Virtual Shopping Spree
You are going on a virtual shopping trip! The object is to buy a gift for any 5 people you choose. You have a total of $250 to spend, and you have to allow for tax on each item purchased. Shop wisely, choose carefully and do not go over your budget!
DIRECTIONS: *Open a blank Microsoft Word document. Add a heading. Your title is Virtual Shopping Trip *Insert a table that has 5 columns and 6 rows. Each person you are shopping for gets a row. (Table, insert table, 5x6, insert) *Fill in the titles of the columns as follows. Name: Gift: Purchase Place: Price: Total *You may use the links below to do your shopping. *As you select a gift fill in the table with a detailed description of the gift you selected, where you ‘purchased’ it the price and then the total price after you figure tax. (round your tax to 2 places after the decimal) **To figure your tax: Enter the cost of the item + 8.25% then press = EXAMPLE: 9.95 + 8.25%= 10.770875 = $10.77
