A Paddock Wood chip shop has been forced to close following an electrical fire on Christmas Eve, less than a week after it first opened.
The fire was extinguished within an hour, but has meant the shop could be closed for up to a month.
Huseyin Kulle, who runs the family-owned business, told Kent Live: "The electric box just burst into flames, but luckily I was able to quickly put it out with a CO2 fire extinguisher.
"But the moment I came down off the step ladder after having put it out, the fire started right back up again as the wires were still live.

People | Property | ProtectedTithe Barn Court fire started accidentally
13/12/2016
The cause of a fire that led to residents being evacuated from a block of flats - some of whom are still unable to return home - was an accident that happened during renovations.
An investigation by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service into the cause of last month's fire at a three-storey building in Tithe Barn Court, off Lovers Lane in Newark, resulted in an initial conclusion that it had been caused by an electrical fault.
“The initial investigation performed by the fire authority suggested that an electrical fault located in the area of an electrical meter may have caused the fire.
"However, following standard practices, an independent forensic investigation has been undertaken, and we can now confirm its outcome
