Theme: Love
Value: Love and Devotion
Poem 1: To My Dear and Loving Husband by Anne Bradstreet
Poem 2: Life in a Love by Robert Browning
Comparision:
1. Both poems are about their love to their beloved
2. Both poems show affection to their beloved
The poet is using a great example of a paradox, *paradox is a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth. “if two were one, then surely we.”
The poet shows his affection towards his beloved in these lines “So long as the world contains us both, Me the loving and you the loth” Showing that as long as the world contains both of them, he is the one loving while his beloved is unwilling.
