Theme Entrants will create an original piece of art using Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto (the piece Midori will perform with the DSO during her residency) as inspiration. Deadline Artwork must be submitted by: Friday, February 26, 2016 Artwork Requirements 2-dimensional art only, on paper or canvas. Acceptable materials include: paint, crayons, pencil, pastels, and mixed media (photography and computer-generated art will not be accepted) Artwork may be no larger than 36” by 24”, and no smaller than 8.5” by 11” One entry per person Categories 1 winner and up to 3 honorable mentions will be chosen per category ▶ ELEMENTARY school students (kindergarten through 5th grade) ▶ MIDDLE and HIGH school students (6th grade through 12th grade) ▶ COLLEGE students and ADULTS Prizes ▶ 2 TICKETS to Midori’s performance with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (May 7th or 8th) ▶ 2 PASSES to classes at the Dubuque Museum of Art Winning art will be framed, matted, and publicly displayed during the month of April as well as at the DSO’s April and May Classics Concerts Winning art will serve as cover art for the DSO’s May concert program book How to Submit Artwork Entrants may bring their submissions to the Dubuque Museum of Art between Tuesday, Feb- ruary 23 - Friday, February 26, from 10am-5pm. In celebration of this event and the strong ties within Dubuque’s rich arts community, the DSO and Dubuque Museum of Art are hosting a community art competition.
