Cardiac Arrhythmia Management: Current and Future Perspectives in Primary and Specialist Care

The Aga Khan University Heart Symposium 2015 runs from Thursday, February 26 to Saturday, February 28, 2015. The course is divided into the Lecture/Scientific sessions (Day 1 and 2) and the open day workshops (Day 3). The Aga Khan University Heart Symposium didactic plenary sessions (day 1 and 2) will be lecture /scientific sessions targeting all health professionals managing cardiac conditions and will aim at exploring the very important subject of Cardiac Arrhythmia management from both a primary and specialist care perspective. Lectures will be delivered by specialists from East Africa and International visiting Faculty from the UK, Canada and South Africa among others. Day 3 will comprise several workshops running simultaneously including1. ECG practice2. Live arrhythmia “word round/case conference”3. Pacemaker and defibrillator workshop

CreditVISA, MASTERCARD and AMERICAN EXPRESS are widely accepted for tourist services. There’s usually between a 3-6% mark-up on top of the price as establishments are charged a fixed percentage on their transactions.

WeatherAlthough it can be hot and humid by the sea, inland the air is dry and evenat mid-day the temperatures are equitable. Temperatures rarely fall below 10oC at night. There are two rainy seasons- between mid November and earlyDecember and from end April to May (temp. approx. 24oC in the middle ofthe day). From December to March, it is our summer, and temperatures areapproximately 27oC - 29oC in the middle of the day, but cool in the eveningsand early mornings.

HealthYellow fever vaccination is required in your country when you return from Kenya. Malaria is endemic in certain areas of East Africa and all visitors should take precautions. Anti-malarial medication should be taken before and during the stay & after departure according to your doctor’s recommendations. Please seek advice for immunization recommendations regarding travel to Kenya.
