This year it is particularly important as it is the100 year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme
And our fellow men and women:
Opening Reflection We will now hear some reflections from our Pupils and Students.The response to our readings today is
November is the month of remembrance when we remember ourfriends and family members who have died.It is a time of national remembrance when we remember those whohave given their lives, lost their lives, and had their lives taken away.

The poppy is the British symbol of remembrance, the poppy whichgrew profusely in Flanders Field, where so many died during theFirst World War in 1914-18.

Reader: Let us remember those who have died for their country inwar. We are the dead: Short days ago,
Those whom we knew and whose memory we treasureWe lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
And all who have lived and died in the service of humankind.
